Making Authentic Craftsman Furniture: Instructions and Plans for 62 Projects Paperback – 16 March 2020

Tem muito tempo que o livro foi escrito e publicado pela primeira vez (perto de cem anos). Evidentemente que o autor não dispunha dos modernos softwares de desenho e suponho que tampouco havia a sua disposição Fotografia. Então o autor desenhou todos os seus projetos (que permanecem atuais) praticamente a mão livre. Acho que é um livro clássico e que todos os que amam marcenaria devem ter em suas estantes.

My wife gave this to me for Christmas (I'm using my wife's Amazon profile to fill this out...) and I love it. The book does not provide much in the way of instructions or detailed measurements, but it does say what the builder needs do to complete the project. Each project gives a cut list with rough cut and finish cut measurements. Diagrams show and tell which types of joints should be used (mortise/tenon/dowel/rebated, etc...) but it will come down to the builder to make a judgement call on how thick/thin/deep to cut mortise/tenon joints, and such.The book is NOT for somebody who cannot extrapolate missing information or who cannot intuit basic woodworking concepts. Not a book for absolute beginners, but the projects are approachable, do-able without the more expensive tools, and helps to understand furniture building.

The woodworker in my life loves this. I was surprised at how much enjoyment he’s got from this purchase. Original drawings of a classic style that is still in vogue today. Great gift, but how do I top it next year?

me gusto todos los artículos que puedes construir pero solo son diagramas en si, no viene por partes para su mejor comprensión solo el articulo desarticulado con descripción de medidas y ya. no sirve si quieres saber paso a paso como se construye un mueble.

テーブル・椅子・キャビネット・本棚など全６４点の製作用ガイド本。点数が多い分１点当たりに割くページ数は少なく、ほとんどは見開きページのみで次に行きます。曲面を使った部品は少なく、強度や細かいホゾ組みの必要のない製作物ならバターミルクペイント等で塗装する前提でランバーコアなどの合板でも結構行けそうです（強度や細かいホゾが必要な場合は所謂銘木といわれるウォルナットやマホガニー・オークなどの材料が要るでしょう）個々の部品については図面は無く寸法のみ掲載されてるだけです。完成品の大きさを想定する以外にはセンチメーターへ換算するよりインチ単位の差し金やテープメジャーを用意した方が良いでしょう。この様な感じですから既にノウハウを持ってるクラフトマンがデザイン図面を入手する目的としてこの本を買うのならアリだと思います。収録作品のデザインはシェーカー家具よりは手間工数が省力化されてますが、アーリーアメリカンテイスト溢れたシンプルデザインです。
