Great gray coverage but darker than most 6N’s
Years ago I thought I remembered buying a John Frieda foam hair color that was in an aerosol type can. It was awesome because you only used the amount you needed. Those of us with short hair, could get two applications out of one box of hair color, loved this easy to use hair color. I hadn’t bought John Frieda in many years. I saw this on a subscribe and save option and it was very affordable. Unfortunately, this does not come in an aerosole can. I tried the color formula 6N, light natural brown. Normally, this is the box color I choose, or I prefer a light ash brown. This John Frieda kit involves mixing two bottles together, shake and apply. It's easy to mix and use but not what I thought I was buying from years ago. It comes with two disposable gloves and a tube of conditioner. You actually squeeze the applicator bottle and it produces a light and airy foam you apply to your scalp. Leave the foam on for the approximate amount of minutes determined by the instructions. I left it on for 15 minutes and then pulled through my roots for another 10 minutes as my grays are stubborn. The foam does not drip like other hair coloring kits. This provided excellent gray coverage, however, my hair color came out much darker than I’m used to. I feel like it’s a medium brown. It’s very rich looking, just darker than I like. If I try again I will leave in less time but I am afraid it won’t cover my grays. A week and 2 blue shampoo washes later the color is softening and fading, I’m liking the color better. I think the product performs well and does not have an offensive odor. The next lighter color looks too blonde for me:( I do wish they had a 6.5N color. I still recommend as the gray coverage is better than any other box color I have tried.

John Frieda Precision Hair Colour, Light Natural Brown
I've been using this foam product ever since it came out. No more drippy liquid that sometimes got on the bathroom floor or wall. There are so many colors to choose from, also. I tell everyone, personally, how much easier it is to use. Highly recommend.

Good value, some pros and cons
This review is for the 6N color, light natural brown. First let me start off with the things I like about this hair color.PROS: It smells rather nice for hair color and the application is easy. Don't shake the bottle and just tip it a little a few times. Squeeze the middle and it does produce foam which is easy to apply. The coloring process takes 30 minutes which is slow for hair color these days but slower is better as it doesn't fry your hair like some fast acting color will. The conditioner is great, I would buy it as a stand-alone conditioner if it's available, it gives incredible shine.CONS: The color I used was 6N Light Brown and I started off with a light reddish/brown base. I got a darker brown than I thought I would. It's more of a medium brown than a light brown and this seems to be common from the reviews I've seen on the internet. It will probably fade/lighten over time but it's a bit darker than I had planned on. Still looks like a natural color though so I can live with it.Overall, I'd say this is a good buy, one of the better and gentler colors available. It's the closest I have ever seen to salon quality coloring in a box and I've been coloring my hair for 30 years both in expensive salons and at home. Just be open to the brown shades being a bit darker than expected.

Good gray coverage
Love this hair dye. Covers my gray. I like that it foams, makes it cover evenly.

On my monthly buy list
This was darker on my hair than expected. I like a light brown/dark blonde to match my natural hair color and this was all brown of the darker variety. And they don't seem to have a dark blonde offering. BUT....as far as distribution and covering grays I am a fan. Now, if you have a lot of hair I would suggest buying more than one bottle cause I have short thin hair and i used about 3/4 of this bottle just on half of my hair. I did make sure to saturate it good but that's just an fyi. There are still a couple grays I can see, I did not get under the hair good enough in some areas but I was pretty impressed by this. I always feel like I have so many grays still showing after I dye my hair. This one has you let it sit for 30 minutes which I felt was more realistic than the others I've used who state 15-20 minutes. So I will be buying more of this. Just need to find a somewhat lighter shade. Other than that I am quite happy with it. Rich color, shiny hair, no chemical smell. The foam is super easy to use, does not stain skin, nor does it drip.

temporary coverage
If you are looking to cover any slivers of grays, this is not it. Which is very unfortunate because the color coverage is perfect! Just doesn’t cover grays and doesn’t last more than 2-3 weeks. I’ll have to finally stop using this after several years and find something else for at home touch ups.

Doesn’t deposit color
This didn’t cover my roots even though I left it on for 30 minutes I followed and applied per the instructions
