I heat it in the microwave for 20 seconds and it is warm at first, but within 10 minutes it is mostly cooled down, so it's not very long. it does seem to create moisture. It also is quite heavy and pushes on my eyes, making my vision blurry for a few minutes after, so I have to create a little dent for each eye. it doesn't have a smell. For durability, I think it will be good to use for a few months, but since it's not washable, I don't know how clean it can stay., so it might not last a long time. It does not come with a carry case, so I have a small case to carry it to the microwave and my bed and avoid collecting too much dust.
