Transcendence

An extraordinary work by a spritual saint
In my view this is not a book that can be written by an ordinary man.. This is the work of a truly awakened soul who has lived and served selflessly for science and humanity for his entire life. While sharing his experiences with various people in his life and mainly with his final "Guru", Dr. Kalam has actually gifted us a modern day equivalent of the great books like Gita or Bible or Koran.. And the most amazing part is that he has not limited this book just to the positive aspects of various religious beliefs (or what has already been communicated in these or other sacred texts including Vedas) but he and his co-author took pain to enlighten the readers about great thoughts and wisdom from great scientists like Einstein, Galileo, CV Raman (and others), and finally combining all the teachings to reflect the positive aspects of leadership with excellent examples of various world leaders and legends from history in the same book. What has come out In the end is great fusion of Science, Spirituality and Leadership which is a rarest of the rate combination to find in the modern world. As described in the introduction, the book is divided into four parts. In the first part Dr. Kalam describes his experiences with Pramukh Swamiji; in the second part he describes the great social work undertaken by the BAPS society in the world; the third part enlighten us about how the science and spirituality are interconnected with various examples and quotes and the last section is devoted on the development of creative leadership which gives altogether a new dimension to this concept.Reading the book is an experience in itself as it elevates the knowledge and energy of the reader manifold. My suggestion is to read only a few chapters a day (covering around 20 odd pages per day), understand and memorize the knowledge given. One may also feel reading few sections again - sometimes due to understand the depth of the concept and sometimes due to mesmerizing effect it has due to the hidden beauty of the experiences shared. While the main experiences described in this work are of Dr. Kalam, they have been excellently blended, researched and produced by his colleague for three decades, Mr. Arun Tiwari. There seems to some divine intervention as many great people seems to have contributed in different ways to produce this treasure. My sincere thanks to Late Dr. Kalam and Mr. Arun Tiwari for creating a masterpiece and enlightening the humanity with such wonderful thoughts and experiences. Am grateful to almighty for giving me time and wisdom to complete the reading and for being in a time where I have seen such great souls in action in my lifetime, The book ends with a phrase "Let us (all) make this planet our more livable" which will guide the world and races for a long time to come..A must read..P.S.: I am no way related to BAPS society but since I am associated with a similar organization it was very easy for me to acknowledge and appreciate what has been talked about.. Pure souls make pure organizations and pure organizations contributes significantly towards development of a country and humanity in general.

A Transformative Journey with APJ Abdul Kalam and Pramukh Swamiji.
When you read a page, you will sit back and think what is India. How thousands of years of knowledge transferred through from one another. What is knowledge? Is it Materially, or physically what you see? Morally anything else beyond? What is my country like, What is religion? What is purpose of life?It is written impeccably. after reading it you will come out to think who you are.you are not who you think you are.APJ Abdul Kalam and Pramukh Swamiji's conversations and contributions are enough for the country and the world to read this book.

Transcendence
A great depth of understanding to build life and also a message of unity by Pramukh Swami Bapa. The golden words makes sense beyond any caste, creed , culture or nationalism.Lastly, the one line which touched my heart is "In the happiness of others lies our own"

An excellent and must read for those want to know Kalam
The book covers Dr. Kalam's life before Presidency (after 'Wings of Fire') to 2014. It provides a higher level perspective, mainly focussing on his spiritual experiences (with Pramukh Swamiji, whom he addressed as his ultimate teacher), the right advice / topic to be discussed towards the end of anyone's life (Dr. Kalam passed away a month after this book is published).I was so eager to know about the thoughts came through the mind of such a blessed soul, in the last few years of his life. Everyone who knows him may have the question - how a person can be multifaceted to the extend he was, and more importantly, how a person can receive such a 'universal acceptance'. In the preface, which he wrote in May 2015, he says 'The power that would lead us to eternal victory is the power of good within us. A harmonious world begins with a harmonious inner world - an unavoidably spiritual quest.'In another note in the Prologue he shares a dream (or a spiritual experience) he had in the night of 11th March'14 (which was the motivation to write Transcendence). In the dream he reaches heaven, God addresses him saying 'Arise, O happy stranger. You have attained your goal'. Then God said 'The world has lost its smile and locked itself in the knots of "I" and "Mine". Your world has become a world of barriers and fences and the "I" creates the poles and the barbs that divide them. Kalam, write to break the barriers, overcome the fences and dissolve the divisions created by the "I".It may not be a coincidence that he passed away from our world on 27th July'15, a month after the book is published (may be the last duty assigned to him). One thing is sure, he completed all his worldly duties and attained the goal to be reached (as he experienced in his 'dream'). For sure the state he reached is the state of being birthless and deathless, higher than the state in any heaven. Our duty to understand and practice his words remains. Reading and understanding this book could be a first step. I would say this book is a must read for those who want to know the real personality of Dr. Kalam.
