So having gotten sick of constantly fighting our old soap dispenser (a Simplyhuman model), I went looking for a better choice on Amazon, and tripped across this one and its reviews. They were good, and I decided to to go for it. Just before it arrived, I received a nice email from the seller along with directions for best results. Then the dispenser arrived, I went through the steps, adding half-water to its jug and our Costco Soft soap. Put the batteries in, primed it, and on the second go, the pump stopped pumping even though the light was blinking. I recorded a quick video on my phone, sent it off to the seller by replying to the email with the instructions, and heard back pretty quick. Amazon had stripped the video, but the seller had some suggestions for me. I gave them a go with no luck, it was still dead. So I sent the reply back letting them know, and got ready to hunker down for the usual service fight. Turns out I didn't need to at all. The seller instead promptly mailed a new one which arrived within 2 days, along with a hand written note of apology for the inconvenience and to let me know that they had both tested and primped the pump for me with water and included fresh batteries for my trouble. WOW. Wish more companies were like this to deal with. So swapped the jug over from the broken one, fired it up and it worked like a champ. Whats more, I hadn't been expecting foam given our old pump just supplied the soft soap, and this was the same stuff only cut with water, but out comes really great foam! Colored me impressed. No special soap and the soap can be cut with water to decrease its cost while the unit makes really wonderful foam out of it. Thats a win, and knowing its a good company behind it as well is even better.

Easy to set up and works pretty well. Bought this because we wanted one that will work with foaming hand soap, as this does.

Product is good. I like the mom and pop small business effort and wish I could give a better review to help support them, but I can't in good conscience. 46.99 for a single unit which is composed of plastic is far too expensive. I wish it were less and I'd be purchasing multiple units for the whole house.

While I live this item we have had it since Christmas and now it does not foam the soap. It is spitting out runny non-foamed soap. Not sure what happened. I use Castile soap and with my white one it is working fine. But this one is not working properly anymore after 6 weeks.

UPDATED: This is one GREAT product; thank you SOWDEN HOME PRODUCTS for bringing this to the marketplace. Works great, looks excellent alongside nickel bathroom fixtures and just no complaints with item at all. Even the sensor that identifies when to dispense soap is placed somewhat off center so you purposely have to put your hand under it before soap will be dispensed. Also, it is not so sensitive that soap will be dispensed if you wipe the counter around the base of the dispenser - i.e., you must have your hand underneath and near the dispensing nozzle before soap will be dispensed. EXCELLENT PRODUCT / Thank you SOWDEN. PREVIOUSLY WRITTEN: First, no discount, promotional or sample was sent to me: I researched matters, read some reviews and paid full price. Having now explained circumstances under which I write this review, as to the product itself, I am very pleased with its appearance, its workings and have experienced only good things. I especially like the ability to have two different settings as to quantity of soap dispensed; and, that the dispenser holds a large quantity of soap. I have not had the dispenser that long so my only concern is how long will the dispenser last - i.e., continue to operate as efficiently and impressively as it currently operates. If problems down the road do develop, then we'll have to see how vendor Customer Service is handled; however, given the email and efforts put forward by SOWDEN HOME PRODUCTS to date (i.e., sent email to ensure I received item / and, sent pdf instructions to ensure I knew how to work things and "trouble shoot" problems) I am entirely confident CUSTOMER SERVICE A TOP PRIORITY.

I really like everything about this automatic soap dispenser. What sold me were the following: 1) batteries inserted at the top not the bottom of the dispenser where they could become wet 2) that the dispenser is plastic, so it can easily be kept clean 3) I like the fact that the soap bottle is clear, so you can use different colors of soap and match your decor 4) and I love the fact that you can use any liquid soap and the ratio of soap to water is awesome. I will save a lot of money on soap purchase as liquid soap is the only kind I use. 5) The dispenser works great, just the right amount of soap is dispensed. 6) I also like the fact that this is a family owned business and the extra personal touch that goes with purchasing this product. Thank you Sowden family for designing this dispenser the way you did. P.S. I also liked being able to see the short video on how to setup the dispenser. Great job!

I have been using this soap dispenser for almost two years now and, generally speaking, I love it. So why only 4 stars? What do I mean by "mostly" excellent? Well, every single time I have refilled it, it has clogged. I use Dawn detergent, and I have gradually modified the ratio of soap to water to where it is now probably 1:6 - very little soap. The good news is that I'm using very little soap, and what I do get dispensed is perfect for cleaning my hands. The bad news is that it just doesn't make refilling any easier. After adding the water and soap, and doing my best to make sure it is well mixed, I re-assemble the unit and try it out. One squirt, and then nothing. I have to take it apart again and spend several minutes running plain water through the tubing and then finally it will dispense the soap again. After that, it never clogs during use. But the refilling process has been so frustrating that I nearly drop-kicked the product more than once! If anyone knows a trick, please share, and I'll modify the rating up to 5 stars. Thanks!
