Tiles are not universal!
Made two different orders of these tiles. Each order matched the other pieces in the order, However... the orders did not match each other. The notches were just off enough that we were not able to expand our current play area with a new batch. The second batch was 1/2" smaller in size per tile (23-1/2" x 23-1/2") instead of full 24".

I did all the trial and error for you. Choose these!
First off, I’ve tried expensive ABC’s mats, I regretted day one, the kids pulled the letters apart & and the tiles. They chewed my alphabet and it was way too tempting to leave be. I tossed them and never looked back.So that’s how I came to try this reluctantly. I didn’t see much of a difference but now it’s a no brainer. These mats were very easy to “install”, cleans extremely well and looks just great. We put the texture side up, just out of preference. It stands up to my kids, animals and the daycare. Will be repurchasing to expand it but I wanted to try the 12 tiles before purchasing a higher amount. I also only used the edges at first as in one of my photos but my kids kept undoing them so we just tossed them. Which I personally preferred the rough edgy look anyways.

Good mat, but a bit pricey & on the thin side.
Over the past two years we've owned a total of 7 mats I think at this point from four different brands. So I think it's safe to say I've had more than my share of experience when it comes to foam mats. These have a good color variety, but that's about it.These mats are almost identical to another set we have by a brand called Norsk, with the following differences:* Norks Mats are much cheaper (we got ours in 6pks from Kmart a while ago, no longer available there, but they are sold in 4pks directly from Norsk for $16; free shipping if you buy 2 or more; so you'd get 8 pieces for just $2 more than this set)* The Norsk mats are slightly thicker - just barely (described as being 1/2" thick, but are just under that really - but still thicker than these, which are described as being 3/8" - I've laid them down next to each other to check this).* The Norsk Mats only include 4 colors (red, green, yellow, blue); I admit - I much prefer the color variety of these mats, but not enough to justify the price difference. Here's the Norsk Mats on Amazon - but if you go to their website you'll see they're sold for just under $16 - but with free shipping (when buying 2+): Norsk-Stor 240147 Solid Color Recyclamat Multi-Purpose Foam Flooring, Multi-Color, 4-Piece The best mats we own are the ones by Edushape. They're definitely also the priciest we've owned, but well worth it. We own two of them (well - technically three - but 2 different types) - 2 of these: Edushape Edu-Tiles 25 Piece Solid Play Mat with Edges & Corners (which were price slightly lower than they are now when we bought them - $18/piece) and after getting these we decided to also get their alphabet mat: Edushape Edu-Tiles 36 Piece 6x6ft Play Mat, Letters & Numbers Set . Both of these are well worth the money if your budget allows for that. They're significantly thicker than any other mat we've ever owned - which makes a HUGE difference when it comes to the alphabet set - or any set that involves removable pieces. The thinner ones do not stay together - they will fall apart just from you walking on them. That's not a problem with this mat - the only reason the letters come out is because my son has taken them out.And the last brand we've tried is the tadpoles brand. I suggest avoiding them entirely. We owned two of these mats & had pitched them both within months. They look really cute - have great color schemes - but unless these are not going to be in a high traffic (or high-play) area - they're completely useless. After a few weeks ours would not stay together and my son wasn't even crawling yet - meaning he would sit in one area at a time & they were coming apart just from us walking around on them. The ones we owned (& threw out) were the Tadpoles 36 Sq Ft ABC Floor Mat, Green/Brown and the Tadpoles 16 Piece Squared Playmat Set, Blue/Brown . Both a complete waste of money. Maybe if you're just using this for a visiting grandchild or relative - but otherwise, don't bother with these. So - overall - these mats are OK...the only real complaint I have is the cost since these are comparable to the cheaper alternative I already own. But the colors are great, the set is a big one that covers a good space, and if it weren't for the lower price elsewhere I really wouldn't have anything negative to say about these.

Doggie heaven
I bought this flooring for my dog lounge/play area. I wanted something that the dogs can play on and not damage up the original flooring underneath (hardwood). I also didnt want my dogs to hurt their joints slipping and sliding on the hard wood floor. Most of my dog clients have high energy, love to roll around, rough play with each other and chase the cat and still have a flat hard surface to do their doggie activities. This idea was cost effective within my budget and I have not been disappointed yet.Cleaning:Dogs enjoy sleeping, playing etc in smelly areas and boy does the area get dirty. From little bodily function accidents, to food spills, paws bringing in mud, and dirt from outside play you name it this flooring takes a beating. What i like about the flooring is that it doesn't omit funky smells even though it gets filthy after 4 or 5 doggy boarding parties, I like that. My first flooring from the same company lasted for 2 years (i think). It can take all the cleansers you have to use on it cause it will need it. It doesnt break down fast after cleaning it. Make sure to dry or air dry before putting it back down on the floor or you will slip. NOT STURDY WHEN WET you will slip!So overall if my dogs can beat this flooring up (They are rough) then it can handle the children, working out on it for the price i was pleased.

Decent exercise floor mats
I was in the market for some decent floor mats that would endure workouts since I'm in the process of building my home gym and so far these have held up well. They're perfect for exercises like planks, push ups, situps and things of that sort. They offer protection from the hard concrete and they also clean very easily! So all in all, I'd rate these a 5/5 for the price, for the ease of assembly and how they've held up so far 2 weeks in of exercising!

Love these!
Standing up well to our toddler and saved a lot of bruises. Can't imagine life without these.*Update*My son is 3 now and we're still loving these. A bit more scuffs and marks but they are standing up well. They vacuum great but a low suction power attachment does best as they can get quite static and the dog's hair sticks with just the horsehair floor attachment. With kiddo number two almost crawling we're looking forward to doubling the value of these mats. We ended up with 4 sets to cover our living room in one giant checkered mat :)

Wish it could be less expensive, like it used to be before
Really perfect for my golf room. It absorb most of the sound when the ball land of the floor. In winter, it's really nice also under my couch, so it keep my feet warmer.I like using it also for exercises. A lot more comfortable then directly on the floor. The price is expensive compared to last year... Same company was selling those mats half the price they are at the moment. I bought it to be dure to have compaitiblity with those a bought before.

Does the job
Waited a little while before reviewing these. I've had these mats down on the floor for about 5 months now, and they are walked on pretty regularly. Colour: charcoal grey.PROS- Very comfortable to walk on- Thick enough to support but does not make you lose your balance easily like thicker mats (using with roomscale virtual reality- Precisely cut and interlock together quite snugCONS- Show footprints and general wear patterning (looks spotty over time). I'm sure it is within normal use to get dirty, however these are not easy to clean... really if you spill something it will not come off- Hard to clean. I tried mopping these with a wrung out mop and they do not respond well to that. Microfiber cloths to buff dry as you wash (by hand) is recommended unless you want a damp spongy floor for the next 4 hours.- Delicate sponge - I mean it does scratch, it leaves marks if you leave a chair or object there and it will leave a worn out spot if you try to spot clean a specific spill.Overall not a bad purchase when on sale, however I would expect a little bit higher quality and stain resistance at the full advertised price. Why 4 stars? I do think it does what it advertises well, close to perfect but not quite.

better than expected for the price, comparable to mats priced twice as much.
I haven't used these yet but upon arrival I compared the material used, thickness, and texture. they're about 1/8th of an inch thinner than the other brand of mats Amazon stocks, but they're half the price. The texture is very slightly 'dotted' or stippled compared to the competitions 'diamond plate' design. I prefer these. So I'll be buying these and doubling or triple layering these instead. I use these to help with vibration noise from air conditioners and other shaky heavy items.
