As an amateur, I've learned there's lots of trickiness in the whole do it yourself locksmith game.Bought this to replace the mechanism in my safe which went out. Was significantly cheaper than the replacement from the manufacturer.Don't guess if this will work on your application. Your safe manufacturer will be able to tell you if this will fit.Lessons learned - Photograph every step of the disassembly with your smart phone. There's a vast lack of helpful youtube videos for this replacement. Once you've gotten the inside panel off to expose the mechanism, it is a straightforward replacement process. DON'T move the levers and internals while the mechanism is apart. If you do, you'll learn more about how the safe works than you'll want to know. (Yes, I did this, turning an hours long swap into a whole weekend project).The package I received from the vendor had additional helpful information about trying it several times before you close your safe. On my application, I was able to to shim the door closer and trick the safe into allowing me to test the lock with the door open. I tried it about 50 times over a couple of hours to be absolutely certain that I trusted it to open the safe.BE AWARE, if you mess this up and lock your safe, a real locksmith would have to drill your safe for you. Expect to pay 300-500 for this service, plus parts.The mechanism itself seems to be well made, and actually more robust than the factory original. The instructions on how to program are very clearly written, and the mechanism perfectly fit.

It came together easily.

Works great! I replaced a mechanical lock on my Dakota safe that I just didn’t trust anymore. Everything I needed was included and once I had the old lock out it only took a few minutes to install. I recommend reading the instructions closely on resetting the codes. I spent a little time at that but it was my fault, not the products. Once I re-read the directions, there was nothing to it. Enter your code and it unlocks. No other things to push twist or pull like some of the other units out there.

I have a Prosteel Browning safe. There isn’t any videos showing how to remove and install on this type of safe. It took about 2 hours but we’ll worth every penny. I was having to waste so much time trying to open the old lock. Once replaced I open it on the first time every time.

Install was easy but the key pad does not work. After I plugged the cable into the faceplate, I was only able to put the combination in once, then the lock acted like it was dead. I would have to remove the faceplate, unplug then replug the cord for it to work. I would have to repeat the process every time I wanted to unlock the safe. There are other reviews with this same issue.

This thing works great the only problem is that it goes thru batteries every 1 to 2 months. 2 Duracell. 9 voltUpdate after a couple months it started not working after every couple days thought it was Batteries but all I had to do was unplug the wire to the battery then plug back in . Then it does it again and again every couple days

The media could not be loaded. This new sergeant & Greenleaf 6120 electronic safe lock is replacing the old lock I had on my safe. Can't complain the one that was on there before last of 27 years. It just happened to be another sergeant in Greenleaf 6120 electronic safe lock. Built to last and very secure. Coming from a commercial locksmith.

My Vault door acted up and wouldn't open and Just heard the Click Click, OMG that is the worst feeling ever when you realize your going to have to call the Safe Guy and drill / wreck your 5k door, Luckily I read a trouble shooting on some website that said hit the enter your code like normal once it tries to unlock slam the door handle hard to the right and back to the left several times during the 6 seconds when the inside box is trying to retract the bolt, I got sooo lucky it work and I was able to open the door, I left i t blocked open over the weekend and waiting for this (Same Model Number Lock to arrive ) perfect fit used all the New Hardware including the mounting bracket that holds the key pad, Caution TAKE PICS OF EVERYTHING before you take anything apart, My vault door has another bracket that bolts to the inside box with the sliding bolt, I was able to reuse the Relocker Bracket on this new unit and everything was tested several time WITH THE DOOR OPEN, before every locking the door, Also Not there is a Management Rest Code sticker that comes with this lock never lose that Number, save it in a Safety Deposit box or a cloud password manager like Lastpass as a secure note !!
