This petticoat is exactly as described by other reviewers, except when I opened the vacuum sealed bag that it was shipped in, to my pleasant surprise, it had a lovely smell - the seller put several lavender scented pouches in the bag with the petticoat! I love the fact that this seller read the reviews for this product and acted accordingly! I kept the petticoat in my closet for a few months before wearing it at my wedding and there was never any foul or unusual smell. It was the perfect length and fullness underneath my satin dress. I couldn’t be happier with this purchase!

I am big on reading reviews and was concerned with complaints of this petticoat having a fishy smell but was willing to take the chance. I’m pleased that my item did not have an odor at all! The item was packaged well. It is very puffy and gives additional volume to an A-line dress. I love the lace trim on the bottom, very cute. I am waiting for my daughter’s dress to arrive to see if it gives the volume we are looking for once the dress is on. If not , I will purchase a second one and double up. We are trying to stay away from the hoop style. All in all I am pleased with this purchase.

I used this under my vintage wedding dress which was pretty thin fabric and somewhat sheer, and it was the only thing that you couldn’t see through the skirt! It definitely smelled strongly of fish, but I steamed each layer and it gave the volume that I needed, which is good enough for me! I opened it the day before, so maybe if it had more time to air out it wouldn’t have smelled so strong! But either way, I’m very pleased with it. :) it wasn’t so bad that I worried people were going to smell it under my dress. If you buy, let it air out and definitely steam it to get the full puff!!

This was for my daughter's wedding. We opened the airtight package and nearly gagged over the stench from the thing. We left it hanging outside for a full day and night. Put in the dryer with dryer sheets. Sprayed it LIBERALLY with Febreze. Took it to the church and had to bring it back because it stunk up the entire dressing room. As a last ditch effort, we washed it with Woolite and a cup of white vinegar and dried again with dryer sheets and still reeked. The girls then tried drenching it in perfume. It was all futile. Very disappointing and a waste of money.
