Botanical Art from the Golden Age of Scientific Discovery

Customers are offered very little insight into the pages as is offered as an option when purchasing books on amazon. I would have liked to have seen a preview of the contents of the book that I was buying beforehand, however, I got the product that I thought I was buying. The images (drawings and paintings of plants and horticulture) are as high quality, detailed, and scientifically oriented as I was hoping for whilst making the purchase. I am not disappointed.

My SO has been getting into botany as a hobby. We are both fascinated by the illustrations we’ve come across in various shops and museums. I went looking for a book like this to gift her. It has beautiful images and was exactly what I was looking for. Great quality, unique topic for you coffee table collection.

Love the book. I did opt to order this new, yet the bind seem used and the dust cover was a bit beat up. Should have just ordered it used.

I purchased this book for my scientist husband, who enjoys many aspects of science, so I cannot comment on anything but the absolutely lovely illustrations. It's like an art book. If the illustrations were sold as single pages many would be worth framing.

This was a gift to two botanists and they were might pleased with the quality and content of this book.

This is a beautiful book. Unfortunately it arrived damaged at the corners of the hard cover. This is the only reason I gave this product 1 star: EXTREMELY POOR PACKAGING.

Bought as a present so I have only glanced through it, but it is absolutely beautiful and an excellent quality book.

This would make a great present for anyone interested in botany and art! You can tell this was a real labour of love for the author. With dozens of full-plate reproductions and informative explanatory text, the book as a whole is as educational and beautiful as the charts themselves.
