Amazing TX, price is amazingly right.
This transmitter has to be the best looking and functionally my capable of all transmitters I've seen (other than the $3k-4$4k JR or Futaba transmitters) I've been actively flying RC since 1998. I was 7 years old when I got hooked on RC aviation. Currently own about 30+ RC airplanes and have built, flown and sold 100's before. I'm an experienced RC aviation user and I got to say. This FrSky Horus is top notch for $500 bucks! I'm amazed at the build quality and aesthetics. I've only turned it on and played through the menu options and I can't wait to bind this thing up to my FrSky RX's and fly. So far so good with the stock loaded software, much easier to navigate than my FrSky Taranis. I will update later on actual flight results but from just feeling the TX the thing feels amazing, ergonomics feel awesome and the gimbals are precisely cut. One thing I wish for is a Retina display to amaze people at the field but other than that the display is super bright and legible. I'm also looking forward to the OpenTX software I can load on this beast but so far it has every thing I can imagine to have on a stock TX. I almost want to buy another backup because they're so affordable. Also, ontop of the amazement of the TX; you actually get a phenomenal carrying case made of all aluminum and no wood! Along with the nicest neck strap I've seen come with a transmitter, and the external antenna all tucked away nicely in the aluminum carrying case. For you guys complaining about the neck strap attachment point, get over it. Take the TX apart and drill a hole for a neck strap attachment point. I get how it sucks having it on the "on off" switch cover but there is an easy fix for this. The TX is worth way more than a neck strap!

Stay away !!!
Bought two of them, one as as present for a friend. Crashed 4 airplanes with loss of more than several thousands of US dollars.Did everything Frsky reccomended but still could not find a solution for random loss of control. Nothing significant in flight logs. If you like your models, stay away from Horus x12s

the price point is pretty high for this Tx
If you are into the FPV Quad Racing Hobby, you understand that FrSky and the Taranis has been dominant in the Tx market, do to it's affordable price point, features and reliability in the 2.4 band. Well sadly to say that this remote does not come to par on 2 of the aforementioned things. One, the price point is pretty high for this Tx. It can be found anywhere from $500-$650. This is far from the $200-220 price range of the Taranis. Yet in FrSky's defense, the build quality is awesome so it does justify the price point in some ways, but not enough for a jump from the Taranis.Second, and this is far by the worst, I experienced many many fail safe occurrences with this remote. I almost lost my Quad over the ocean because of the signal lost.Over all this TX was not ready for market. I switched back to the Taranis because of the Signal issues. Yet, the good thing about this Tx is the build quality, which I mentioned earlier. The Hall effect Gimbals are far superior than the stock Taranis Gimbals. If you are going to buy this Tx, update to Open Tx and buy a 5dbi antenna, which you can attached on the RP-SMA adapter. I will warn you, if you are a Taranis user, updating to Open TX on this transmitter is not as easy. You need to download the manual off FrSky and follow the steps. You will also need to purchase a SD card (unlike the Taranis which comes with it) in order to do it. Also from a You Tube vid I watched, not all mini USB cables work on this Tx and you might have to experiment on which ones work.

Awesome RC controller!!!!!
The product arrived quickly and is everything that i wanted in a RC transmitter. Came with a aluminum case and a carrying strap. The only downside was the menu knob on the right side was broken in two.

Works Great!
This is an update to when I first bought it a few months ago...I'm loving it more each flight. It's heavier than the X9D+ that I also have but the controls fall nicely for my hands (average sized hands) and it has a very nice neck strap with the very nice case included. I used OpenTx 2.1xx with my X9D+ but I've been using the FrOS (FrSky's version) and it works much more simply and I've had zero problems setting up my 6-9 channel planes. The sticks are silky smooth, all of the switches are well placed and feel familiar to the X9D+ plus there are extra sliders and knobs that let you customize galore. The only constructive criticism is the battery life. It's NiMH rechargeables included and they just don't hold up as long as the X9D+ with NiMH or LiPo batteries. It lasts for about 6 good flying hours, which is a whole weekend of flying for me. I'm just spoiled because the X9D+ lasted for several months before needing to be recharged. The screen is very bright even in daylight. You can put the brightness on a knob or slider (I put mine on a slider) and can adjust it on the fly to save precious battery power. The sound is also loud and clear...I also put it on a slider. It's a pricy piece of technology but I would buy it again. It's all quality made. I've heard of problems with the selector on the right bottom breaking but mine is fine so far with pretty heavy use. My only current concern is that FrSky is coming out with a new transmitting protocol ACCESS to replace ACCST and how compatible they will be remains an open question at this time...June 2019.Overall...if you can afford it buy it...if not, get an X9D+ while they still make 'em!
