Almost perfect, but...
For some time I've been looking for a knife to tackle a specific job, and one that is dedicated only to that job - cutting pineapple. I eat a lot of fresh pineapple and find that large chef's knives are somewhat heavy-handed for the task. Up till recently I've been using a No. 15 Opinel, which has the perfect knife. Sadly, however, as many Opinel owners are probably familiar, mine has gotten so difficult to open due to wood swell that it's becoming dangerous to extend the blade. I came across this folding shucker from Charleston Shucker Company quite by accident and was immediately excited about it.Upon receiving it, I'm very pleased with its performance. However, I do have a small issue with the knife. As at least one other reviewer has mentioned, my knife came out of the box with a problem - the liner lock wouldn't engage. This is clearly a big deal in terms of safety, particularly with a knife of this size. Before sending it back, though, I took some time to check out the problem and found a solution to it (at least on my knife). If I extended the blade about 80%, then flipped it open the rest of the way, the liner lock snapped into place just right, locking the blade open as it's supposed to. I did this 25 or 30 times, and the blade now opens correctly each time. Again, this worked on my knife but may not for others.Anyway, now that the knife locks up properly I love it. Cuts pineapples perfectly, then sits in my drawer waiting for the next one. And although I don't use it to fillet fish, I have no doubt it does a fine job there as well. I like the heavy nylon pouch it comes with also. Velcro flap and a loop for attaching to your belt. Handy if you're using it outdoors. BTW, other than the slight flaw with the liner, the fit and finish was quite good. Still, I do think that - since others have reported the liner lock problem as well - there may be a quality control issue that Charleston Shucker Company needs to address. Hopefully they'll look into it. Would have given 5 stars otherwise.

Better quality than you may expect.
I noticed this knife does not open far enough to hit the blade-lock. However, following the excellent review recommendation I just opened the blade about halfway, then flipped it open the rest of the way and it locked perfectly. Ima give this a 5 stars because its seems like pretty good quality for under 20 bucks.

Best Folding Fillet Knife There Is
This fish filet knife is perfect for any fisherman or outdoorsman in your life. The blade is extremely sharp and durable. Filleting fish will be very efficient with this knife.. And it is perfect for on the boat with kids - no open blade around!I ordered a second one as a camp cooking knife since I don't like having an exposed blade in our camping kitchen gear. Now I no longer have to worry about someone accidentally getting cut as they go through camping bins.

Liner lock not finished.
It is a nice folding fillet knife, perfect for hiking and beach fishing. BUT the liner lock doesn't lock, so I now have to take the knife apart and stone/file the liner lock down slightly so it will lock the blade into place, I could probably send it back but why toss a good knife that just needs a little fitting work. overall im happy with it.

OK knife
Not a bad filet knife. Get's the job done. I've had both better and worse, but worth it for the money.

Two Stars
One of the dullest knives I've ever seen. Wouldn't even gut a trout.
