Just Doesn't Deliver
Where do I start? The Philips and Amazon marketing blurb was enough to make me part with £££ for what on initial inspection looks a great product. In reality -- The box is made of light plastic and although it has the looks in design, the finished product is in reality very cheap looking and it won't sit flush on the table as the weight of all the cabling (AC adapt, network cable and digital audio) is too heavy for the box.- The main menu looks fine but everytime you power up you get a silly boot screen telling you to press any key or it will shut down.- Without warning the screen resolution of the menu drops down to 576p (through a HDMI) and you have to reboot to fix- Net TV is a joke. Warning!! there are many PORN apps! Not good! :-( Netflix doesn't work and there is no BBC I-Player even though it is in the menu after a firmware update. The You-Tube app tends to shrink to a tiny screen in the top left, plus it forgets who I am and my preferences after each use.- The method in which the system indexes files is bizarre. With DNLA on, I just can't get it to find all the tracks in a playlist even though all the files are in the same folder as the playlist, folders are NOT indexed alphabetically (a BIG disappointment) - the player puts them all in a totally random order, and it cannot play an album in correct track order even though they are all tagged correctly.- The player places a gap between tracks when there is no gap (even on sector aligned tracks)- Movie playback is fine- Apart from the indexing issues, I am really disappointed that this machine cannot handle 24bit 96000Hz audio. It will recognise the files and play them back, BUT the quality is appalling as the bass is amplified and distorted and the top end disappears altogether. Hardly what I would call High Definition :-(- The player regularly can't find folders on my hard drive, I have to come out, restart and remarkably it eventually finds them.

Not Bad but not great
First off when started and sitting directly beside my router it would not pick up the wireless network, so had to attach a Network Cable.Once Network cable was attached the system took another 5 minutes to obtain an IP Address but once the wired network got an IP Address the Wireless started to work as well. The system could see that there was a software update available but neither the Wireless or Wired Networks would complete the download of the update without the system hangingSo I had to download the Update to a USB drive and run the update from there.Once started now Software at latest level movement through the menu's is very slow and annoying at times. You really need to press the remote control Once and then wait for the next icon to be highlighted before pressing the remote again, there is no fast scan across the iconsThe Apps that you can install are very limited and not very good TuneIn Radio is an old version and does not have access to all radio stations that the same app has on my iPhone.Movie play back is fine from USB found some files a little stutter from time to time but not very frequentI have not tried playing movie files from either a SD Card or across my network I purchased a 2TB which works fine with the system even thou in the documentation it does say 1TB Max.But overall its alright nothing to special. some new updates for the apps that can be used would be great

Family viewing
In our family we all love to watch films together and this makes it so easy and affordable. I would recommend it to all my viewing friends and family.
