The built in stand can be used both horizontal and vertical. It has nice deep bumpers on the front for screen protection. Shows apple symbol On the back through cut out opening. Was easy to put on the iPad. And buttons or easy to push even with case on. Not too bulky. Would not be too water resistant As openings for speakers, headphones, charging cable etc. do not have plastic doors that cover them. So they are open.
