Edward A. Killingsworth: An Architect's Life

I have so many memories of the beautiful buildings designed by Killingsworth. Because I spent many summers vacationing in Hawaii during the '70's and 80's, I had the opportunity to stay at some of the beautiful and unique hotels he designed, i.e. Kahala Hilton, Kapalua Bay Hotel, Mauna Lani Bay Hotel, and the Halekulani. This is a thoughtful look into an extraordinary architect. Architectural historians Mulio and Volland are simply masterful in their examination of this genius in Southern California modernism.

Very informative book! As a person who grew up in Long Beach and witnessed a lot of his architecture first hand, it's thrilling to read about his story. A very nice book for a very low price.

Well written & organized biography of this accomplished architect.LOTS of photos of his broad range of stunning, and original concepts.

This book is Killingsworth! Amazing photos & so many interesting bits of personal information! A must read for anyone who has an interest in architecture (or Long Beach)! Another great book by these authors is "Long Beach Architecture, The Unexpected Metropolis" which showcases Killingsworth and other iconic architects & buildings in Long Beach. Both make for great reading and great gifts. A "must have"!
