Absolutely the BEST boot if you work outdoors!!!!
I bought these boots in 2008, and they have kept my feet dry through mud, rain, snow, floods, and swamp since then. I have used them consistently for the past 6 years working on horse farms in all the crazy weather we have had. Over the years I have used them at least 4-5 times during the week, and in the winter in deep snow every day to trudge through it. They are unbeatable if you work in any situation where there is mud, high water, or deep snow. They are great in the cold BUT you must wear thick socks, and either hand warmers or heat reflectors to keep your toes toasty. The bottom is rubber, so even though it is always waterproof it will not keep your feet warm without extra layers!!! My trick is thick stockings with heavy duty socks and leg warmers, and my feet stay warm for at least 8 hours working outdoors. Also, you will skate on ice without studs! I learned that quickly, but you can work without the studs as long as you mind your step, and have great balance. When it gets below 20 I switch to my fleece lined boots. I have been stepped on by different types of horses from a huge Percheron to ponies, and barely felt a thing and never had a puncture. It is time to get another pair, because the bottom sole has separated off the right boot. These boots are definitely worth the price! $100 for at least another 5 years is a great deal. I bought a 9 last time, but I usually wear a 8.5/9 in shoes. They are a bit large in the summer without all the extra bundling. Spend the money upfront and buy the real thing! You save money in the long run.

Couldn't Ask For Better Boots!!!
When I first received the boots I had to refrain myself from writing a review just commenting on the utter manly-rugged-beauty of these boots. They looked amazing. I ordered an 11, yet they were a bit snug for my taste, as I wanted to be able to fit some thick socks in them during hunting season, so I sent them back thanks to Hank's free return shipping (thank goodness), and got a size 12, which were really too big, which led to some slippage by the heel, but the sizing problems should not deter you from buying these boots. My feet usually don't like to cooperate in these matters anyway. The function of the boots themselves is to what? Keep your feet dry, comfy, warm, and protected from the various terrain you may find yourself in. These boots ACE everything in every one of those categories! As far as warmth, well, sometimes I wish they had an internal thermostat so I could keep my feet cooler on these warmer days of spring, but when winter was here, they were beyond perfect. As far as sporting and outdoor activities, I have only been fishing in them so far, but they have been excellent for everything I have encountered. Several times when wading in the creek or pond I will step someplace that I believe will finally conquer the top of these boots, but the water has yet to overcome these boots. If you're in limbo between the 15 inch or the shorter version, I would suggest the 15 inch as these boots will roll down easily for convenience or comfort. Overall, these boots have been a great buy, and I would have no hesitations in buying another pair after these wear out, if they ever do!!!

Muck Boot doesn't stand by its failed product! Can't I submit NO STARS?
My last pair of Muck Boots -- Hosers -- lasted with nearly 8 years of heavy winter use. I got a pair of Edgewater Boots as a holiday gift two years ago after the old Mucks finally sprung a leak. I was very happy with the Edgewaters initially. They were even more comfortable than the old boots, but the rubber (or whatever it is) on the top of the foot didn't seem quite as pliable as the old black Hosers. They were fine for the 4 months I wore them last year. After taking the Edgewaters out of my closet when the rain started last fall, I noticed the rubber had started to crack like the old Hosers did after many years of service. Within a month, the cracks had turned into splits and the Edgewaters started leaking. This was after only 4 MONTHS of use and then being stored in my bedroom closet. They weren't left outside or exposed to summer heat. Just as I've seen in other negative reviews, I first noticed the leaks when walking through wet grass. My old Hosers kept my feet dry while crossing creeks and wading through mud for many years, but the Edgewater boots were useless to me after just one season. The most upsetting part of this experience is that the Muck Boot Company didn't stand by its product. I contacted them twice by email last fall when the boots first failed, fully expecting them to send me a new pair of boots. After getting no response, I then called their so-called Customer Service and was promised a form which never arrived. On my third call to Customer Service, I was told that Muck doesn't actually handle its own warranties, but they's send me a form to submit to Honeywell.com. I did as directed and attached several pictures, but never received a response even with a follow-up email.I'm one long-time Muck Boot customer who will never purchase another pair of their boots. Muck Boots are pricey, but the Edgewater boot is garbage. The lack of customer service and Muck's failure to stand by its product is even worse. I will never purchase another Muck Boot Product and will let everyone I know about my experience -- and will warn other would-be Muck customers by sharing my experience. By the way, I just love my new Bogs and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a high quality boot. bogsfootwear.com

My old "Original MuckBoots grips the top of my calf and otherwise fit was very good. This new one doesn't grip the top at all. The left boot is smaller than the right side. The right side is floppy. Both old and new are a size 8.

Brilliant but check grips on soles before you buy
Genuine Muckboots are worth it!!! My only regret is I didn't check out the soles - for some reason I assumed all muckboots were the same but I have learnt that it depends on what they are designed for, so my fault really! Only tip I can pass on realy is check if you have reasonably standard calves on your legs - Muckboots don't give much (thankfully) but might not be suitable if your leg calf is chunky (sorry couldn't think of a better word) as the tops might pinch. Otherwise I would always recommend Muckboots as they last ages and cheap wellies are false economy.

muck boot edgewater
Swift delivery as always with amazon.I have used Muck Boots for many years as mud is plentyful where I live.Neoprene lining is a must as my feet are happy in them.Really warm on cold winters' days and totally waterproof in the rainy season. I'd chosen model "Tay" in the past but this time I opted for the Edgewater. The "Tay" lasted 3-ish years of heavy use and it'll be interesting to see how well this model will stand the the wear and tear.First impression, very comfy and lighter than the Tay,also a little cheaper which always helps. Will update this review in 12 months' time.Ok,here's the update a year on.These boots only lasted less than a year and are now dangerous to wear in muddy conditions, have gone A over T too many times recently so in the bin they'll go! No tread left , no grip whatsoever. Also, the tread runs horizontally only ie from 3 to 9 o'clock etc etc something I hadn't observed when I made the purchase. Regret buying them as no longer fit for purpose ie daily dog walks in all terrain. Positives: toasty warm, waterproof and still in good condition other than the soles. A year on I'll give 2/5 only.Am now on the lookout for a another pair :)

Great boots, very wide calf
Great boots and great service. Unfortunately they were very wide in the calf and flapped around the ankles so had to return. They were about 40cm or more. True to size for the foot and very comfortable
