EMP: Electromagnetic Pulse: Prepping for Tomorrow Series

I've studied up on EMPs for decades -- Newt Gingrich was totally correct--it WAS the intended 'lead' strike by the Soviet Union fifty years ago, to disrupt comm's prior to the main attack, and today with Korea & Iran, it is the intended attack strategy for those two NUCLEAR threats.....and they both will someday try it in order to catastrophically collapse our power grid, etc. Akart seems extremely knowledgeable when it concerns disasters. I'd like to say I've 'enjoyed' them, but in the EMP's case it is downright scary. I must admit. Make's a prepper more dedicated in his/her efforts.... mjm

I found it informative, but there is some direct cut and paste from his other books. The information was useful, but if I have read a chapter in one book, I don't want it popping up in other books. I'd recommend the book, but the cut and paste made it feel phoned in when I got to it.

Found this to be very informative. Recommend to anyone wanting to learn more about emp. Easy to read and understand.

This is a wonderful, highly informative and well written book about what can and probably will happen and the ways that you can get prepared for it. The SHTF (S*** Hits The Fan) scenarios are well described and very eye opening, because most of the scenarios are happening right now. Not just on a SHTF scenario. Or TEOTWAWKI. It will happen. It's not a matter of when. Even if not in our lifetime, it doesn't do any harm to be prepared. This is a definite must read for all people of all genres. Extremely helpful in all aspects of preparedness from beginning to end. Kudos again to Bobby Akart for such a remarkably well written, informative book.

There is a lot of well-researched information here but I’m not sure who the target audience is. There is more and more concise information for concerned individuals elsewhere.

Good ideas things to look for. My wife works for large power generation facility and they have many things go wrong where they may have all units down and buy outside systems are so old that they are at end of life cycle. Friend of mine works for FERC he says they manipulate the system constantly and one very hot summer or cold winter day the system will fold on its own, then you will see what happens when the different companies blow FERC off and try to protect their customers it happens.

The book contains an explanation of what an electromagnetic pulse is; How it can be used as a weapon; How wide surprising and wild spread its effects are.It also explains:1. Where we stand with other nations.2. Aftermath of an attack.3. Shielding.4. Preparation for an attack.

For anyone interested in the potential devastation caused by an EMP, this is a must have book. Being the subject of much speculation by news media, the public, and fiction authors, EMP is a serious threat, and knowing what it's really about couldn't be more important for those that prepare for such events. The Preparing for Tomorrow series is shaping up to be the seminal work in understanding the need for preparedness. Packed with facts, not speculation, rumor, or hearsay, the in depth research in this book provides the perfect backdrop for understanding one of our greatest threats.

An excellent book looking ahead towards an uncertain. Future. Ths the only thing that remains the same is change and there are many ways in which our society could have change thrust upon it. Tsunami, earth quake, CME, financial collapse, so many situations with short to long term effects. 'Always be prepared' is maybe a Boy Scouts motto, but if you aren't prepared then WHO do you think is going to help you ?

A useful book that tried to get me to understand what an EMP and other natural or man made devices could do to the electric grid and other electronic devices.The descriptions of societal utter breakdown are shocking and in a way I am selfishly glad that I am older and may not want to survive, but I guess the fact that I am reading this type of book means that maybe the survive gene might awaken.A challenging read that despite being non fiction really interested me.
