There are single color alternatives made by same company for much less money. If you have a SAK with corkscrew it's definitely worth considering these. I put shrink tubing over these once installed as the tinder frays easily when rubbing in pockets or packs.

Tiny fire-starting tools with tinder. A tool and tinder fit inside a corkscrew. I don't know how practical it is, but it appeals to the survivalist gadget geek in me. :-) (The striker tools glow in the dark!)

I would never ever go out with this as the sole method of firestarting! That said, it makes a great back up for fire starting, but one must exert caution with it and pull BACK on the corkscrew ferro rod leaving the striker in place (opposite of what most people do) to avoid breaking it (and makes it less likely to hit the tender nest with your striker, so some prefer this technique with all ferro rod fire starting). Expensive, but peace of mind is worth it.

Makes my knife a one stop shop. Every thing I need in one tool.

This is a great value when you need to start a fire. Easy carry on your knife, can't go wrong with them

Great idea, but the product is entirely too fragile. It is almost unusable. 2 out of 3 broke with very light use; the third one had the rod separate from the plastic requiring it to be glued. I would not rely on this even as a backup.

Coils perfectly around the corkscrew on my Swiss Army Knife. Works well to start a fire. A must have.
