The Boxcar Children DVD and Book Set

I recall my third grade teacher reading these delightful storybooks to my class. What child wouldn't want to fantasize about being on there own having adventures. We took the first book and DVD set to visit our grandchildren over Thanksgiving and had story time after supper each night. At the end of our two week visit I promised them the story to watch again on DVD. Even though this book was written back in the 1940's it still held firm there attention and imaginations. I was tickled to be able to share it with them. They will be getting the 1-12 book series for Christmas too....Shhhhh!

Great movie, makes some departures from the book, but not so much that it disrupts the story - mostly just to streamline. The box came with a certificate for the digital version of the movie, which includes up to 1080p (and almost every step down to 144p for those people wanting to watch this on their year 2000 era flip phone). I was sad there was only a DVD, but the included download in HD quality solves the problem.The animation is not so full of action that the web stream bitrate HD video has defects that I could notice on brief examination.

I read The Boxcar Children to my first graders and they loved it! I went on Amazon to find the DVD and came across this bundle. It was a better deal than buying the DVD alone and you can never have too many books in a classroom library! The DVD is super cute and my kids were glued to the screen the entire movie. It followed the book exactly and they begged to watch it again as soon as it ended.

I wish there were more, I love watching these with my family! I have both DVD’s available. I highly recommend these for anyone. They are fun, wholesome and teach great lessons.

The Boxcar series of books for kids includes inspiring, stimulating as well as exciting adventures. My granddaughter was motivated to read and enjoyed meeting and living with each character. Highly recommended.
