Google Nest Thermostat - Smart Thermostat for Home - Programmable Wifi Thermostat - Snow (Renewed)

I was able to hook this up and adjust my temperature from my phone very quickly. It’s so nice to be able to change the temp of my house especially when no one is home and be able to cut my energy bill down. Very easy to use

I purchased this Nest device to replace my existing programmable thermostat. This was an Amazon renewed item and as such I knew that it may not have all the OEM items. It arrived without printed instructions, but if you have installed one thermostat you have basically installed them all. I also got the back plate for it. Took about 10 minutes to install and have the thermostat integrated onto my WiFi. Just for giggles I went online and took a look at the instructions. They are by far the best and most complete set of directions I have seen in a long time. Thats why the 5 stars on Tech Support. Not a real fan of the mirrored finish, buy cheap and you don't get to pick. Works very well on the Home App, not so much on the touch controls. I spent a lot of time looking at various brands and models, happy I landed on this one.

It's just so hard for a product to match my air conditions.BTW, Nest is dead after being a brand under google. Poor design.

easy instructions to install, is so nice to be able to turn it down if I forget when I leave, and great to be able to turn it up when I am on my way home

Full disclosure, I’m not HVAC-trained, nor am I an electrician. I’m no slouch when it comes to smart home products. I’m also pretty handy, and can diy relatively well. This product, however, has me scratching my head. Never mind that it’s renewed or refurbished or whatever. That doesn’t bother me as I trust Amazon to sell me a product that works or make it right. My gripe is with Google and the product itself.First, the setup process is ridiculously fiddly, and even when I do get it set up, it loses wifi connection often. This one is in our MIL apartment and is connected via a very close wifi range extender. The connection isn’t fast, but it is strong so this should not be an issue.Second, this thing feels and looks cheap but cost $100 even renewed/refurbished, and performs inconsistently. The UI is okay I guess, but the touch component is just terrible. You can’t really change anything except the temp so I’m not sure why there’s even a settings menu. All it does is give me(often inaccurate) information about the unit. If you need to reset the wifi to put it back onto the network, you have to remove it from your Google account altogether. What?? All I want to do is forget the network and then add it back, and that’s your solution, Google?! Okay. Fine. I could deal with that if I didn’t have to do it almost every day since I put the thing in.Finally, I cannot fathom why Google would call this a Nest thermostat. It is not a Nest thermostat in any sense of the term. It looks almost nothing like it, definitely does not work anywhere close to as well as our actual Nest in the main house, and seems to have been a cheaply-made, poorly supported cash grab by Google after purchasing the Nest company.I would give this thing one star if it had been DOA. As it is, when it stays connected, it does actually work as intended so I added a star in fairness to that. Overall, I am very displeased with the performance of this so-called “Nest”, and I will likely be returning it to try something else.

This product has changed the way we live and has functionality that amazes me! Not to mention, it saves me money by automatically controlling my adjusting things, as NOT to waste electricity.Oh and the fact that I can control it from anywhere is INSANE!!!!! This is stuff we dreamt about as kids!!!!!

This thermostat will not integrate with the Nest App, very disappointing. When you try to install this device you are directed to the Google home app. My goal was to have all of my Nest devices available in one app. This unfortunately is not an option.Its a Google/Next product so it works fine, easy to set up, if you use the correct app, just wish it was more clear that "smart thermostats" are not compatible with app using "learning thermostats".

Upon reading and viewing the installation information and then following them meticulously, the thermostat was up and running. A couple of wires had to be re-stripped and then repeated on the base plate. After these additional tweaks, the programing was easy to follow and worked as expected.
