A Quality Tap Wrench
This hefty, all steel tap wrench is 6 and 3/16 inches in length and 11/16 of an inch wide at its widest area in the middle. It weighs 153.5 grams on my scale. It came well packaged with lubricating grease on the threads and a light coat of oil over the surface to prevent rust. It's cleanly machined and finished, and fits nicely in the hand. The wrench is very sturdy and has only two parts -- the body and the locking bolt. Nicely threaded too, in my opinion. The bolt has no play or wiggle at all. A little bit stiff, but easy to turn with just the thumb and forefinger. If one of these wrenches has a bolt that is too stiff to turn with finger pressure alone, as was evidently the case in the first one reviewed, I would expect it too ease up and turn smoothly after some use.In regard to the one I received, it is entirely a "quality tap wrench," just as it's called in the listing title. Everything else describing it in the listing is true also. I give it a 5-star rating with no hesitation at all. I'm sure it will hold up well to years of heavy-duty use.

Decent tool for the price
For the price, this is a decent tool. It is a far cry better than the cheap die cast junk that comes in most tap and die sets. It is however not without faults. If you buy one, expect to have to clean out the threads of the handle and screw clamp. Mine was a little rough screwing in and out when I first opened the package. I used a de-greaser and a little compressed air to clean it out and then added a little light oil and now it works pretty smooth. I have used it a few times already and can say it holds the taps fairly well. My only concern with this is the potential for damaging the threads on the screw clamp after a lot of use because it pushes directly against the tap. If the threads get really bad, you may not be able to remove the screw.Overall though I can say that I am pleased with my purchase and would recommend this to anyone else that is sick of the die cast handles that always break. I just wish they made a bigger one for larger size taps.

Acceptable quality
Biggest downside is it took over a month to get shipped. And Amazon was bugging me every couple of days for a review, weeks before the projected arrival date. This seems to be machined out of a really nice forging or casting, no voids or seams on the surface. Not Starrett quality but not in that price range either. Knurling is well done on the locking screw, not extremely sharp and not flattened, either. Biggest trouble I had was I couldn't operate the handle with finger pressure, had to put a punch through the hole and crank it around that way with a crescent wrench on the body. Not good. Ran an M6x1.0 tap down the hole in the body and removed some bits and grease, ran a die down the threads on the locking handle and chased the threads there, several times. THEN it could be operated by normal finger pressure. Knocked a star each off for that and the long shipping time. It's a step above normal Chinese machining seen here. Just lacking a bit in final cleanup. The wrench's size is in-between my little Starrett dogbone and the larger General tap wrench I have. Seems to handle shanks up to 12mm-13mm taps, wouldn't be long enough to originate threads that size but would be handy for chasing out larger holes in close quarters. I got it for use with taps in the M3-M6, #4-#12, size range. Plenty of leverage for taps in those sizes.

Quality tap wrench!
After a little deburing and leveling of clamping face and it's a top notch tool. Not complaining, but the alternative is $25 more! Hardness is as it should be, overall, tool is a great value!
