Safety for kids while traveling
I bought this to use on vacation as a door alarm for our small children when staying in a rental house with a pool. I wanted to ensure I would know if they woke up early and tried to leave their bedrooms (despite us keeping the house doors locked- you cannot be too careful around water). This is small, easy to use, and works exactly as intended. Many reviews spoke about safety when traveling more for intruders; this was the perfect solution for safety with our children. It now travels with us on every trip, just in case we find ourselves in a situation where we really need to know about middle of the night kid movement (water hazards like pools, busy streets right outside the front door, etc).

Good added security alarm for road warriors!
I bought this for my constant travels for some additional security while at the hotels. I've stayed at all types of hotels and motels and have from time to time been issued a card for my room that is granted access to all the rooms in the hotel which is scary to know can happen. This alarm helps to add additional security along with the door locks to ensure you know when the door is opened. The db level of the alarm is loud enough to alert you and whoever is on the other side of the door that there's been a breach. It's easy to set up and disarm making it a must have for those that want or need some extra security while away from home.

Very loud! Works great!
We have a swimming pool in our backyard, so in addition to our pool fence, I put this on the door when my 4 year old nephew with the skills of Houdini spends the night. It is loud!

Extra protection when travelling alone
I am recently widowed and bought a 2011 class C Winnebago, 31' RV so that I can continue to travel with my new partner, a rescue dog. I became a little concerned for my safety after I checked into a couple of parks that looked a little shady once I got all set up. I feel really good about lock on main door but the driver's side door, along with passenger side door became a little worrisome. I guess I watched too many crime movies. I tried the seatbelt method and my door handles open the doors from the inside (locked or unlocked) when seat belt is applied to them. So this pair of "squeelers" will make me a little more relaxed when locked up for the night. Since I have a privacy curtain that runs the width of the RV and actually blocks any view from the outside, these squeelers will give me the time i need to get my "other" protection ready. They are battery operated and have about a 2-3 inch flat prongs that fit easily in door jamb from inside with the door closed. If the door is opened from inside or outside the prongs will no longer be together and this will issue a pretty loud squeeler that could possibly be heard several rv's away. Just don't forget they are in the door before you open the door yourself or they will more than likely get you startled!!

Easily Disabled
So folks broke in after I used these alarms after flipping over one thing the batteries in the alarm durning the day, while I was out before coming back at night. They also bent the metal tong near the base making the tongs there closer together to create a connected circuit so they could them move the tongs wide apart. At least an inch if not more giving them time to remove the alarm and but the tongs back together before going off. I had to figure out a way of breaking the connection at the base to allow the alarm to work as usual. Also, if someone pulls out the wire in the alarm out of the tongs it doesn’t trip any sort of anti-tampering defense that then triggers the alarm to them go off so I have to make sure things are connected on a daily basis.

Small but loud
We took this traveling recently and thankfully didn’t have to use it but it’s small and easy to carry or pack. Easy to activate and very loud!!

A moth, sneezing in the next room, would be louder.
Don't buy this item. It's a dud. Setting it up was easy, at least. I first pulled out the plastic tab that activated the batteries. The two metal tongs, when they are not touching, set off the "alarm," so it is simple to figure out how to use- you squeeze the metal tines together, and allow them to spread out as you put the item in the crack in your door. So that is easy, I'll say that for this thing. But the important part, the volume of the alarm, is non-existent. The sound it makes doesn't approach 1/118th of a decibel, let alone 91 decibels.I have two cats. One is a tom, and you could pop a balloon directly over his head, and he wouldn't even blink. My female cat, however, spooks at every noise, regardless of how harmless (the sound of a soda can opening) or distant (the dog barking in the yard about a half a block away) the sound is.There is a little loop of clear rubbery plastic that holds the two prongs on the device together to keep the alarm from sounding. (Had this item worked, I would have held on to this little loop to put on when the alarm isn't being used.) If the tines are separated, the alarm goes off. My scared if you switch on a light near her kitty was about two feet away from me- I didn't know she had jumped up onto the desk- when I removed the loop to test the "alarm." Guess what? She didn't even flinch, let alone run away. I tried taking the batteries out and putting them in again, and tried to find any flaw preventing more than a whisper of noise coming out. But nothing helped. The item itself is quite cheap-looking, but that wouldn't matter, if it worked. But it doesn't. I don't know if the unit itself is defective, or the batteries in it are almost dead from this thing sitting on a shelf someplace for too long. All I know is that you can barely hear the thing. Amazon was awesome as usual about helping out with the situation, and because of their excellent service, I will order a different item from them to help with security. This time, it will be something that doesn't require batteries.

Simple to use and it works!
The alarm is lightweight and simple to use. When the two prongs slide out of the case you can easily hold them together so the alarm doesn’t sound. The alarm is loud enough to wake you but not too loud to disturb your neighbours in the next apartment or when travelling.

OK portable alarm
This is good for travel. But it’s nowhere near as loud as the wedge that goes under the door. It’s loud enough to wake you up - but not loud enough to alert the hotel room next door for help. Good to startle anyone trying to break in.. then you better hope the would-be burglar/rapist runs aways instead of entering the room!

Seems to work great although a little flimsy
tested this product at my home and it worked on my windows and door just fine . it comes with 2 batteries each so there is an extra one that is great. not sure the purpose of the flashlight ?? it is a bit flimsy and not that solid but its light in weight and can be packed easily... lets hope it works on our 2 month trip
