Colouring Fantasy 2 - Colouring Book by Scot Howden

24 Beautifully Hand-drawn Fantasy/Steampunk inspired designs – printed one side of the page
The media could not be loaded. “Colouring Fantasy 2” is my second coloring book by Scot Howden. I so enjoyed his first coloring book that purchasing the second one in the series was a given for me. The designs are detailed and some are intricate with small areas to color. His designs have an ethereal quality to them that is really wonderful to color. In his first book, the line art was very light. In this book, the line art is darker and is much easier to work with. The designs in this book are a range of women in fantasy, as fairies, and as steampunk-inspired characters.I'm really pleased to have a new coloring book by Scot Howden and hope to see more in the future. The women he draws have a delicate and feminine look that I really appreciate. This is what I experienced while coloring in this book and testing my various coloring mediums on the paper:24 Fantasy designs plus Title and Dedication page1 page of thumbnail images with design titles (at the back of the book)Printed on one side of the pagePaper is thin, white, slightly rough, and non-perforated – typical CreateSpace publishing paperGlue BoundDesigns do not merge into the binding with enough room to cut out pages if you choose to do so.Book easily opens fairly flat for coloringAlcohol-based markers rapidly bleed through the paper.Water-based markers bleed through in spots.Gel pens and India ink pens leave colorful shadows on the back of the page. India ink can leak through if you use multiple coats or apply heavily.Colored pencils work well with the paper. It has good tooth being slightly rough. I can use both oil and wax based pencils with it and get good results in coloring, layering with the same or multiple colors and blending with a pencil style blending stick. Hard lead pencils dent through to the back of the page.I use heavyweight paper or card stock as a blotter page under the page I am working on. It keeps seeping ink and dents from marring the pages below.

Beautifully done!
Very beautiful drawings, making it a pleasure to color in! I've gotten every one of Hannah Lynn's books, and I love them, but this artist (Scot Howden) actually equals hers, plus he draws a nose, which makes him a step up in my opinion! The artistry is less child-like, too. The quality of the paper is about the same as every other adult coloring book on Amazon - fine for colored pencils with no bleed through, but I bought a coloring book (think owls, nature, tiny sections) specifically because it came with a plastic sheet to place behind the page that I'm working on, which saves tons of paper over time, instead of using several blank sheets to prevent bleed-through or pencil marks on the page behind. Then, if I do use markers, I can just clean the plastic protector with rubbing alcohol, and I'm good to go again! There are two sets of each drawing in this book (one whole set follows the original set - not 2 next to each other), which is great if you want to try different techniques. I also like the fact that the drawings go from simple and quick, to quite intricate. I highly recommend this book!

Love Scots beautiful artwork and it makes you feel like ...
Love Scots beautiful artwork and it makes you feel like an artist yourself coloring these gorgeous pictures. These pics are printed on single side which I prefer. My only complaint is that the paper is very thin. It feels kind like a waste of time after you've spent many hours coloring these pages and they are on such flimsy paper. So now I print my pictures on thicker card stock - (Neenah Exact Vellum Bristol, 8.5" x 11", 67 lb/147 gsm, White, 94 Brightness, 750 Sheets, 3 Pack (80211). Here's the link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XCF8X8P/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I've recommended this book to friends and they've purchased it themselves! Buy this book, you will love it!

I loved Scot's first book and had to purchase Fantasy #2
I loved Scot's first book and had to purchase Fantasy #2. The pics inside are just beautiful and a joy to color. You will get 24 fantasy pics of beautiful maidens (and even a fantasy man). The typical paper of Createspace is somewhat thin so I like to use several layers of heavy weight paper in between pages (or a plastic divider). All prints are one sided so colors won't bleed to another pic on the back. If you liked volume 1, you'll be sure to love #2. Definitely a good coloring book for all individuals who love coloring fantasy.

beautiful timeless a true and real gem and its paper art work is amazing
very pretty the picture on the front of this coloring book matches what is included on the inside it is a bit pricey for what you get but the art work is truly breathless. I think it is well done and I am not sorry I purchased it, it is a one of a kind type of coloring book. I have enough coloring books that when I die there will be enough blank pages for some one to donate for someone else to color or to throw away which is sad if you think about it. I have no children..

Beautiful
This book is gorgeous. I'm not a coloring book expert, so I don't know much about paper quality, but it's been fine for me and my Crayola pencils. The pages are one-sided though, which is great if you're worried about bleeding.

Impressive!!!
One of my top favorite coloring books!!! I first bought the volume 2 which has beautiful images of women and details are on point. I love coloring each page, just like reading a good book, I can’t stop putting it away. I had to buy again to share with my sister who is also a colorist. I bought the other book, volume 1 for myself. I hope Mr. Howden creates more coloring books like these...

Some very pretty pictures - but not all....
I loved Scot Howden's first book and was very excited when this second book was published, but a few of the pictures are just not right - I am not sure what it is, but I have left 7 pages in the book at the bottom of the pile to maybe look at later in the year [or even next year] this is very unusual for me as I can go through a book like this in about 10 days. The paper quality is the same as the first as is the layout and general ideas, but I hate to say there is that twinge of disappointment - sorry!

Magnifique
Illustrations sublimes. J’adore cet univers.Le seul bémol étant toujours la qualité du papier. Mais on peut réaliser de belles choses avec différents matériaux.

quality over quantity
this is a gorgeous, easy to color book. the pics are beautiful and range from relatively simple to fairly detailed. It's not a very thick book but what is there is very pretty and I am quite enjoying this one.
