OXO Good Grips Y-Peeler

This potato peeler is excellent. It’s sharp, smooth, and removes the skin effortlessly without wasting any of the potato. I love this thing! It's my new favorite peeler. It's so sharp, and it peels anything that you need a peeler for so much easier than a regular peeler. I also love all OXO good grips kitchen tools, they are all great quality, and I am slowly replacing all of my kitchen tools with this brand.

The OXO peeler has a large, wide silicone handle that also has ribs on the side for improved gripping. It has a nice weight & seems balanced for ease of use. The peeling blade is seriously sharp. It glides through the toughest veg surfaces. No strain or fatigue when using it for extended use. It also has a cover for the blade assembly when not being used. Price is perfect for this quality product. Wished I had purchased this many years ago.

Wow! This peeler is wonderful! Sharp blade and so easy to use. It made short work of peeling carrots and potatoes for a stew I made yesterday. Love this thing.

I bought this peeler several years ago and it became my absolute favorite peeler. Then I lost it a couple of months ago. I decided to buy it again and was so pleased that when I clicked in my previous order it came up. So I was certain it was the same one. I’m 70 and have peeled a lot of potatoes in my time. We ate potatoes every day when I was a kid. I don’t eat them as often now but never use instant potatoes. I first noticed that the peeler was different when I went to remove an eye. This one does a poor job and usually takes at least two tries to remove it. No big deal, just an annoyance. What is challenging for me is the fact that every time I use the peeler I peel a bit of skin on my hand holding the potato. I have never done that since I was a little kid and was learning how to peel a potato. So something about the peeler has changed. The handle seems to be different as well. Sadly I lost my old one and so I cannot compare. I am now going to g to search for another Y peeler to see if I can find one that I can use. The wound is rather annoying and I want to eliminate further annoyances. lol

Love this peeler. Fits well in my hand and seems more efficient than other types of peelers, especially for potatoes and carrots. Blade is plenty sharp.

All the reviewers said "sharp." I should have known better, but I vitally cut myself the first time I used it. Not even joking. Totally my fault, I was pulling it towards my thumb while peeling a jicama. I did not expect it to cut so easily or so quick. If you're used to restaurant style Y peelers this will have a very familiar feel. And yes, after finding a bandaid and cleaning everything, it finished the tough skin of the jicama easily. This is better than commercial vegetable peelers by a mile.

Ik heb al diverse merken dunschillers geprobeerd maar geen enkele is zo goed als de Oxo good grips. Schilt niet te dik en schilt heel soepel. Ik heb er 2 voor mezelf en 2 voor mijn kinderen gekocht. Echte aanrader!

Very helpful for me

Bought this for my elderly mum who has some issues using one of her hands after a stroke. With this she now has no problems what so ever peeling potatoes, carrots etc. as normal. The rubberized finish also gives a good grip when it's wet.
