One of the funniest books I've read in a long time
I am a huge Community fan, so I bought this expecting some good Chevy Chase stories. Those are definitely in here, but it's just the overall comedy of this book that impressed me. The stuff about Joel growing up with reckless brothers, weird stories from his early, pre-Soup days... all of it is super funny. It's rare that a book will actually make me laugh out loud, but this one did. There are also a lot of funny charts and photos, so the whole thing reads similar to the Daily Show's "America" and the Colbert Report books. A must for any Community or comedy fan.

So Bad I Couldn't Finish This Book
Until today I had no idea you could even return a book, I just typically sucked it up and suffered through any book I purchased or checked out because there was always the chance it could turn into something interesting. I made it about halfway through this and found myself asking Siri if you could return a Kindle download. Thank God you can. I thought Joel was super funny on The Soup and Community but the book is a painfully unfunny read. He comes across just like the narcissistic Jeff on Community and the schtick gets old quick. The footnotes don't add anything but an annoyance on a Kindle to try to read.

Disappointing
I was very disappointed by this book. Although I like Joel McHale, he humor gets old quickly (as does looking at footnotes). I got to the point where I was only reading two chapters at a time and then only one. At 50% through I finally gave up and bought something new, but I may come back to it later.I was hoping for a bit more on the Almost Live days, but he really skimmed over that as if he was ashamed of it. The best part was probably the chapter where his wife kept popping in with comments.

Total Entertainment
I don't watch much on TV except the late night humor shows (the next day, online), so never heard of Joel McHale until I came across a video from Late Night with Seth Meyers on which McHale was a guest. I was intrigued by his personality and sense of humor, so I went looking for his other videos, including clips from Soup and Community. Somewhere along the line, his book was promoted, so I bought that too. I wasn't disappointed at all. His style is totally different from any celebrity "memoir" I've read. The term "LOL" is overused, but I did, several times.

Quite Possibly the Funniest and Most Honest Celebrity Memoir Ever Written
This book was everything I had hoped for in a Joel Mchale memoir. If you enjoy Joel and appreciate his snarky sense of humor then you won't be disappointed. I've read many celebrity memoirs and I can confidently say that beneath the sarcasm and laugh-out-loud humor this is probably one of the most honest depictions of fame that I've ever read. It's smart and hysterical. I highly recommend it.

Made Me Laugh
It's tough to be sarcastic with the written word, but if anyone could do it it's Mr. McHale. Best $2 I ever spent on a book, and it's just perfect for spending time on the throne.

Hilarious book if you enjoy his sense of humor
Hilarious book if you enjoy his sense of humor, have never laughed out loud so many times while reading a book. This is not the book to read before bed, every time I would try and read before bed I would be up for an hour or more laughing my ass off. Good stuff!

Laugh Out Loud funny
So funny. And a little bit foul, but mostly funny. Not for young ones, but if you like Adam Carolla's autobiographical books, you'll definitely like this one. You'll probably even like it if you aren't an ACE Carolla fan.

Good gift for Joel Mchale fans
Purchased as a gift for my brother who is obsessed with Joel McHale and he was really happy with it. The book was delivered quickly, and I had a little look through it and saw it fit it's description well. Shame his Netflix show got cancelled

Not enough gossip.
Funny in places, but Chevy Chase aside there's just not enough anecdotes -- each main cast member of Community gets about 1 paragraph, John Oliver and Dan Harmon aren't mentioned at all. Nothing worth mentioning about Seth MacFarlane or Mila Kunis either. Wasn't looking for dirt, I know he has a career to protect, but surely there's some amusing stories worth telling?
