Very helpful
This is a very helpful book regarding the understanding of restorative justice in the context of our current (broken) criminal justice system. It gives us a good theoretical framework and vision of what sorts of things could be done to improve and eventually transform the ways that we deal with crime, justice, reconciliation, and restoration as a society. As a Christian I appreciate the biblical basis for restorative justice. My only criticism is that basis comes largely from the Old Testament and very little is drawn from the New Testament. Despite that I still found it to be very informative and also accept that there are other religious traditions that have contributed to the concept of restorative justice.

Amazing
I enjoyed reading this book. I thought that it was easy to understand and the author focused really well in describing the “lenses” that we have. I bought the anniversary edition where he includes updates to his original work.

Must Read
This is a must-read for anyone seeking to understand the role for practices of restorative justice in many settings in contemporary times. It's not a fast read, even for a fast readers. It's a reflective read.

A classic!
This book is a classic! Howard Zehr is the grandfather of restorative justice in the U.S. It's great that he's still keeping so active in it!
