Never tried something like this before, happily surprised!
Never tried this before, heard it could help with ulcers and stomach upset; have always suffered from stomach issues, figured I'd give it a shot from the good reviews. Some people don't like the taste, but I didn't mind at all, even without washing off the powder. It's best described as chewing on cedar flavoured wax. The pieces are varying in consistency, some of them are soft, some are hard. They can either get stuck in your teeth like taffy or they crunch into dust.I took this a few times when I had that signature unbearable gnawing, burning pain in my stomach, combined with extreme nausea. It kept me from hurling and soothed it after about a half an hour. I like how I can spit it out when I don't need it and it's not a medicine with side effects. After years of that, no more, thank you!I found that in addition to helping my occasional stomach ailment, it's also a good stress reliever because of how hard you have to chew on some pieces. Hard pieces are best chewed slowly, not like gum. I noticed if I chewed it like gum when I am stressed, I'll barely be able to chew the next day, my jaw is so sore. So keep that in mind if you're a nervous chewer like me! Sloooow down, and be mindful. :)

quality too uneven
I like Mastic Gum - I think it really helps with digestive issues, esp heartburn. the thing is - the best MG is the small soft 'tears'. I ordered this product five times (two different sellers). the first - from AP - was the best. lots of small soft pieces with that lovely piney, resiny aroma. the second jar from AP had harder more harder pieces, but overall good quality. another jar, from a different seller, was total rubbish - like yellow sand (ivory color denotes freshness, yellow means its old). I don't know who is responsible - Krinos - probably it's their product. I called t hem them but they never called back. whatever, amazon refunded my money on the rubbish stuff. but the next two jars were no good either - like small glass beads. and uniform in size, which isn't how mastic gum comes. I think the big hard (i.e. not very good) pieces were ground into uniform sized rock hard 'beads'. so that's it for me. no more mastic gum from krinos - at least not until later this year, when the new batches are processed.

Great mastic tears
Update: I've purchased more since, and they're always the best. I also recently had a couple of inflamed taste buds on my tongue that weren't that big, but they STUNG. This stuff took it down in a day. It's great to finally get really pure mastic tears on Amazon! I've been chewing mastic gum for years, I just like the taste and it's quite good for you. You can definitely chew this straight up, although I personally like to use a few tears to "enrich" some regular sugar free gum. It adds an incredible texture and stiffness, and the flavor (if you like it) is so bright and fresh.I've had good mastic tears, mediocre, and bad, and these are some of the best. Price is very fair, the shipping was good, and the tears were not stuck into a mass as sometimes can happen.

Seems to work I can't complain
Had tummy pain from either germ and/or too much alcohol, read this is good for gastritis. Yes its a small container, yes its more like chewing wax than gum think of those Halloween wax lips, but it did seem to help with pain nausea etc. Also didn't stick to my teeth as others said( just hold in mouth a few minutes before chewing). Doesn't taste like much imo, slightly medicinal, didn't crumble. The only problem is I bit the inside of my cheek twice while chewingIf you have ulcers, h pylori or just drank too much booze and having stomach pain give it a try. And you know, stop drinking so much.😀.

It does work
Just finished my first jar, bought in 2014. I tend to get an "uncomfortable" stomach after eating sometimes and used to go through containers of Tums. That works too! However, the Tums eases the immediate discomfort and the mastic seems to handle it for months at a time.Yes, I have seen a doctor. Been tested for H. Pylori. Etc. Prilosec is AWFUL and made it worse.I only use this stuff once a month or so. It does not taste particularly good. Leaves a bad taste in your mouth and will pull out loose dental work, but it works. And you only have to chew a few grains. This is not like bubble gum! A few grains to make a b lob the size of an aspirin is all it takes to make any stomach burning/discomfort go away.

It's alright.
The problem with the batch I recieved is that the expiration was about a month~ish so I had to go through it quickly. I think some of the pieces were actually expired already as some were very (and I do mean very) soft and sticky. It would break up and it was awful. I'd say about 1 out of 5 pieces were like that and had to be tossed. I ordered two of them, and they were both like that in each container. Mastic is great for building up some facial muscles or just a long lasting gum. Flavor is eh, but its expected when purchasing mastic.

Harder than gum, pleasant resin flavor
I ordered this while waiting for another type to ship from Greece. I took about 10 of the crystals and chewed them into a ball. They start dry and fractured but after being moistened and chewed form a ball. Its much harder than gum but has some give to it. You can re-use the same piece over again, it dried out fairly quickly and the initial process of chewing for a few seconds returns it no a moist ball. The flavor is what you would expect, tastes like resin. It won't make your breath smell like resin but will remove any negative smells, effectively making your breath smell like nothing.

Not usable
Product comes in the form of very small pellets. When you try to chew them some of them crumble into dust and the others end up getting swallowed. I tried warming the pellets up a bit in the microwave to soften them and create a small wad to chew. But the wad was so sticky it got stuck in my teeth. $14 wasted.
