Is it only inputting one channel (left or right), or summing them?** A: The system is just giving you a mono signal the subwoofer output on your receiver is just a mono signal unless you have a right and left output. I have never heard of right and left output before for a subwoofer, but I guess there is always a possibility. **Q: Is this a good choice for a center channel speaker?** A: It may work for you, depending on your speaker, the amp on other speakers, the other speakers, your set up (assuming you have something to feed a distinct center channel) and your room. I wouldn't. How many volume controls do you want to get up and mess with? If you're trying for a home theater setup, you'll be happier with Amazon's entry level Onkyo 5.2 system at $329. Use the speakers you have and upgrade as you can afford. Everything is included (amp, power supply) and all you need to do is use your own speaker wire and hook it up to your subwoofer. In my case I tested the amp with my old car subwoofer and wow...works really good! At first I was a bit disappointed at full max BUT it was because I had the wrong settings, fortunately the instructions provided were helpful. From the factory it comes in setting "M" which is for full range speakers. After I switched the mode to "B", wow, I had to turn down my volume! Pretty legit and nice unit I have here.We'll see on the durability and longevity of this unit as its only been about 2 hrs.
