5 stars!
I have always enjoyed South Shore furniture because it's practical, economic & simple looking.I love this bed frame! When I bought it, I had the concern that the mattress may move around of the frame. But it turns out to be okay; the mattress stays on the frame and does not move around. I mean occasionally you might have to push it back against the wall, but it's not that much of a big deal since it's not so often.I have a queen mattress and it fits very well on the frame. The frame is solid and strong. The bed does not make weird noises when my husband & I do passionate things on the bed. I particularly love the storage area it provides. It saves our room much more space. As for the building part for this bed, it took us around 1.5 hours to build it. Instructions are very clear and easy to follow, so it was not that difficult though it's really heavy!Oh the corners are a bit sharp (this happens with most South Shore products we have brought, but I don't feel I will complain about it because of the mentioned good points about its furniture), but nothing a few corner protectors can't fix :)Overall, I am satisfied with this bed frame given the price I'm paying & the quality of it!

Thoroughly Disgusted
I don't think I've ever written a one-star review, for I usually believe there is always something decent to be said about every purchase. Not this time. I am absolutely disgusted with this purchase and feel like I've thrown away over $200 on this bed. Save yourself the time, stress, and worry, and do not purchase this bed. There are better quality beds out there for the same amount of money. Keep looking. Why? Let me start. After a lengthy wait, the bed was shipped via Prime (the only good thing about this purchase) and came requiring a signature. When the box was opened, the instructions were almost indecipherable. The bed was put together mainly from looking at the pictures of it, and it took three days to piece it all together. This is not an easy assembly. Perhaps for a master carpenter, but not for the average Joe and Jane. Maybe we received a different product from the other reviewers, but I can honestly say that it took a solid 24 hours of labor to figure out which piece went where and assemble it all. It uses screws, fasteners, and required the use of a drill, screwdriver, and hammer, also not a big deal, but make sure you're ready.Upon assembly, eight screws were missing. Considering it was so big and heavy and took so long to ship, rather than wait for the pieces to come from the manufacturer, a trip to Home Depot was made to purchase them. Another delay in assembly. Finally, the bed is put together! But wait! As soon as it was sat on, the middle support beam broke - yes, broke. The wood snapped. After all the frustration of putting it together, the first time it was sat on, it fell apart. I can't even begin to explain how frustrating it was. Once more, since it took so long to come, another trip to Home Depot was made for a replacement board. However, now we're getting really stressed out. After a couple of weeks of gingerly sitting on the bed and replacing the fasteners that keep popping out because they don't fit the thin boards well, guess what? Sitting on the bed causes all the lower support beams to crack. Yes, crack. Now I don't know what tree this poor bed came from, but it's the cheapest, flimsiest wood I've ever seen. We're not overweight people, and this is coming from a person 115 pounds sitting on it. That's sad.At this point, I decide I've wasted a hefty chunk of money and want to return it. There are other beds out there that are much better quality for the same amount of money, and I want my money's worth. Well, naturally Amazon wants the bed back. The idea of taking it apart and trying to jam it in a box when it weighs more than I do is discouraging and disappointing. I understand that they want the defective purchase back, but we don't have the materials, time, and patience to tear it all down and ship it back. In addition, the box it arrived in was sent to the trash when we finished putting it together. So we're stuck in a quandary with a piece of junk bed that wasn't worth $50 let alone over $200.I purchased this bed based on the reviews. A lot of people said it was pretty, easy to assemble, and worth the money. Well, I'm sorry to say that has not been my experience. As much as I hate to write a one-star review, I have had no choice. I'm stuck with a purchase that was not worth the money and has completely fallen apart. I'm sorry to have flushed the money down the toilet and seen my family suffer through so much stress with a piece of furniture.

bed
My daughter wanted to get rid of a bulky bed frame that was taking up half of her room and asked for this one. One of the drawer planks had a channel ripped off at the corner. I contacted the manufacturer showing them a picture of the broken part. They sent out free of charge a replacement piece. I got the frame part together pretty fast. putting the top layer on though was a bit confusing. They supply you with a piece of wood to align the screws up with the frame. This seemingly worked till I got to the other side and the screws werent lined up. I had to just guess where to put them in. The caps to insert into the tops of these screws mostly broke and were useless. After that was all done I put the queen sized box spring and mattress on it. They instantly just slide all over. I had to get some stick on velcro to attach to the wood to hold the box spring in place. also the Corners are very sharp. I am not sure why they used corners. A king size would not reach them to protect you either. I got out my jig saw and rounded all the corners so they were not posing a danger anymore.
