I have an HVLP and it is very specific about clean paint. Even after I have filtered my paint, when I add Flotrol and water to prepare it I run it through a strainer. Having this quantity on hand is very important. Without them I wouldn't be able to spray quality cabinet doors and trim.

I will keep buying these as I need them they were great before putting your paint into paint gun. The screen is small enough for what I need. Depending on the application I have double them up but most of the time it is not needed in these work great the paper is strong enough and they're the perfect size and cheap price

I am very happy with the product. It does what it's supposed to. I'm just writing this for anyone else trying to use it for this specific application. I bought it to strain paint before spraying kitchen cabinets. Benjamin Moore Advance will flow but be warned that it's slow. No big deal though unless you're in a hurry. The downside to this is that I'm using a critter spray gun. These don't do so well with the ball jars. The screened portion of the filter protrudes beyond the top edge of the ball jar allow some paint to strain outside the jar and down the sides. It does work, just guarantees that you'll have some cleaning up to do. You might be better off to strain into a small bucket or something then dump the paint into the ball jar(s) from there.

I use these to filter used frying oil for reuse and also to filter out the slime that develops in herbicides which clog my hand sprayers. They work great and do not disintegrate when wet.

These held up well. The only surprise was how many I needed to get through most of a gallon of Latex paint. The paint was very dirty from the corroded paint can. Once the filter stops draining it is blocked by crud so pull it out and replace it.I cut the end off of a 13 inch traffic cone and inserted the filter inside. I put the new one gallon paint can into a five gallon plastic pail to prevent a mess. I then rested the inverted cone onto the top of the pail using paint stirring sticks for support. This method worked great so long as I did not pour more than about a cup into the filter at a time. With this method the filter would stay where I put it. I also in one instance thinned the paint a little with water. It took me eight filters per gallon but I am pleased with the result.Be sure your paint is well stirred before you start.

I have been building "Heirloom Quality" Custom Woodwork projects for 30+ years, when it comes down to "Finishing" (no pun intended) a piece- it starts with the 1st coat of sealer, it may be shellac, sanding sealer or stain, the next coat can vary depending on the species and desired look, all the work that goes into a "Top Notch" Complete project, can be enhanced or shot to heck, depending on how fine these different coats are filtered through the strainer before spraying- These "ABN Paint Micron Strainer Cone Shaped" filters are as good as it gets, the price is right, the quality is great (I have cleaned them when I will be using the same material for the next mixed batch) they don't allow ANY small contaminants of dust, flakes from dried can lids or unmixed pigments to go into my spray cup- I will be buying these again. Never again will I EVER paint indoors with a sprayer. It was not worth the time in taping, clean up hassle with the constant messing with the cleaning of the filter sponges on the sprayer, which by the way 2 sets won't get you through 3 rooms, and the temperamental nature of the sprayer: won't take spraying upward so the ceiling is OUT, spraying UP HIGH IS OUT, and when you try this it goes spraying paint all over so therein lies the extra cleanup because the explosive fit it throws if you do angle up too far is extensive. It went all the way into the kitchen from the other room all over all the appliances, floor, and windows. We spent hours cleaning that up after hours taping. We could have rolled the living room, hall and kitchen in half the time and with better quality and less paint. Now for the 8' fence outside the first $60 Wagner we had lasted 3 seasons before it gave up and died and it was great since the mess was not noticeable. This one was a lot more expensive and just not worth the prep time and mess. We papered the windows and still had paint on a few. We had paint on the exterior of the front door of a taped off door. How? Again, beware of its 'upward angle temperament' if I haven't swayed you to stick to the $5 roller method and throwing your friends a pizza painting party!

They don’t last long ; but work ok to strain 3-4 times then get another one. I noticed that when I thin the pain first; I can strain it much much faster.

It does the job but you need a support otherwise the strainer is really weak and you can spill the paint. I highly recommend to get the strainer support or make your own.

These are awesome and so worth it to not have to clean up just toss when done!
