Unexpected scent oddly works for me
When I first opened this up I was really surprised by the scent of it, it wasn't what I was thinking it would be at all. It smells like chocolate and orange with a trail of menthol and lavender in there among other lighter notes. It actually does work for me in relaxing me. I like to apply it and then do some breathing exercises as I smell it, I find that calming.

No smell
We are big fans of essential oils and have used several products like this in the past. Unfortunately, the scent with this balm is barely detectable and so it doesn't have the advertised effect. The texture is a hard wax.

a pleasing medley of scents
This is a good balm for refreshing the senses. The fragrance is a little bit like a chocolate covered orange. The container is a decent size - about 2.5” in diameter with a twist off lid. The balm itself is easy to apply for a temporary dose of fragrance. Since I like the smell of it, it kind of puts me in a good mood. I also like that the scent isn’t too heavy or lingering - just enough for a little pick-me-up anytime. The oils ultimately have a moisturizing effect that leaves my skin soft even after the scent has faded a bit. Very nice all around.

It's a solid, not a lotion
I was expecting this to be a lotion, but it's actually a solid. That said, I'll review it and rate it based on what it is, rather than what I thought it was going to be - but if I'd bought it instead of receiving it as a Vine item, I'd probably have asked for a refund or something, due to it not being what I was trying to get.Anyway:It has a really nice scent. The orange is strongest, and similar to what someone else already wrote, it reminds me of a chocolate-covered orange - specifically, a candy I had one time which was orange gelatin / jelly sticks with a chocolate coating. Yummy. :) And maybe with a slight "forest" backdrop. It makes me think of winter holiday scents.I have a weak sense of smell, and the scent seems to fade out quickly after I apply it (directly under my nose so I can smell it); I may end up leaving it in the jar and smelling it in there, rather than putting it on my skin.It leaves a very mild ... greasy? waxy? residue on your skin. I don't like how it feels on my fingers, but elsewhere I don't mind. You don't need much when you use it, so it should last a long time.It doesn't say how much is in it on the package or in the product description. I see in the product details "Package Dimensions: 2.48 x 2.4 x 0.87 inches; 2.4 Ounces", but a lot of the time that information seems to be inaccurate or includes outer packaging, so I tend to ignore it. The dimensions are close for this (although it's weird that it gives two different diameters), so I guess it could be 2.4 ounces? When I've put it on, I've been using a little plastic applicator spatula that came with something else I got recently, because it's kind of annoying trying to get it out with my finger (and tends to end up in some getting under my fingernail). Doing it that way also helps me soften it by briefly stirring a bit of it around while it's still in the container, so it goes on smoothly instead of being somewhat grainy at first. It probably should've come with something like that. The jar has a screw-on lid that's easy to open and close. It comes wrapped in plastic so you know it hasn't been tampered with.I want to give it 3.5 stars; if the scent lasted longer or was stronger, or if it came with something to help apply it, I think I could bump it up to 4.

Solid with Odd Smell; Nice Customer Service
I got this product because the vendor materials indicate it's made of up essential oils. I'm one of the 95% of chronic migraine sufferers - who number 2Billion in 2021 - with a super sensitive sense of smell. As a result, most manufactured smells are intolerable to me, especially if they're anywhere near my face. Essential oils, especially orange, peppermint and eucalyptus, are great, even therapeutic. But perfumes (which I used to love) don't work, and heavy creams not only don't work, they just take longer to scrub off.Unfortunately, this didn't work either. I got the orange, but there was a timbre of something else I couldn't identify - Frankincense? Juniper? something that did not blend quite right, that was just oily smelling. This is just me; my husband was fine with the smell, but didn't like the texture enough to use it.I also didn't expect to see it in such a solid form; as a balm, I thought it would be a little more soft. But I wasn't willing to try the texture enough to see what happened, given the smell. Again, everyone interprets scents differently, and this may smell wonderful for you.The vendor, however, was kind enough to contact me after reading this review and offer me a refund (for which Vine Program participants are not eligible), or a replacement (which I'm not interested in, given that my issue was scent). Regardless, it's rare a vendor actually goes through their reviews, and I appreciate their efforts.

Three stars for balm quality one star for scanty scent
I could barely discern any scent in this balm.As a balm itself, it's fine, but I really couldn't detect any essential oil.Just for reference, I use essential oils daily so I am quite familiar with how they can smell.
