Works great and has already saved me from a bad purchase on coins

Used in combination with other verification methods, the Verifier is quite useful, as long as you understand its limitations.I had already checked my coins to verify that they were the correct thickness, diameter, and weight. You need to do that!For instance I have a few US Silver Eagles that I verified (mistakenly) on the 99.99% Pure Silver scale on the Verifier. Each of the coins except for the 2011 Eagles passed. I re-checked the 2011 Eagles on the 99.9% Pure scale and they passed. I then looked up US Silver Eagles on line, and they're only specified to be 99.9% pure. So, all the Eagles passed. Also, I checked a known fake silver Eagle and it failed on the Verifier.I also have two 1/10 oz Gold Ameracan Eagles, which had already been checked to be the correct size and weight. These passed the 99.99% gold test on the Verifier. I tested a known fake 1/2 oz gold Eagle and it failed.I checked a couple Peace Dollars on the "US Pre-1945" test and they passed. I also checked a Morgan Dollar on the "Pre-1900" scale and it passed. I had already checked the silver dollars for correct size and weight.Tungsten is nearly the same density as gold, so a gold-plated tungsten coin might pass the size / weight test, but it would fail on the Verifier since it is an different metal with different electrical characteristics. I've been told there aren't any 1/10 oz tungsten fakes found (not worth it for a 1/10 oz coin I guess), and now I know the ones I have are genuine. There ARE 1-oz tungsten fakes out there.Limitations: This device can not tell the difference between a 90% silver US dime, and a modern clad dime that's not silver. The weights, of course, are different.

Sigma is the goto testing machine for most of the reputable metals dealers. Don't trust the acid tests or have people damage your coins to verify them, screw that! Invest in yourself and buy a Sigma. You will be very pleased with the performance and peace of mind that all your pieces are the real deal.

I buy alot of coins, this machine works sometimes. I tested a fake Morgan dollar it said it was fake. I tested a gold coin it said it was gold then I tested a silver coin it passed the test for silver however same silver coin also passed the test for gold maybe I'm doing something wrong but I don't trust this machine

People don't know how to use this machine is the problem, Not the machine. I purchased one and did a Youtube class on the Machine and it's works PERFECT!
