CUH-ZCT2U perfect compatibility
I bought a BRAND new controller to mod. It’s a CUH-ZCT2U. I had no issues with installation whatsoever! I play at a very competitive level in COD and play double claw grip. I am impressed with the result. My advice for installation would be to just be super careful and follow the instruction video exactly as shown (QR code in the box and also found on their website). I did NOT have to sand anything down or “lightly modify” like others have mentioned. Value for the money is an understatement.

Excellent simple DIY mod that's great for refurbishing old controllers
- All the pieces you need are in the box with spares. - The step-by-step instructions on the website are excellent. This kit is great for refurbishing old controllers. It just works and the buttons and triggers feel much better than the originals that Sony provides. In my case, I'm playing competitive fighting games so I need triggers that feel less like triggers and more like buttons. This kit enables that. One reviewer noted that the sound of left/right triggers and left/right shoulder buttons was different for him. This can be very annoying! But it isn't exactly true: In the box, there are transparent trigger buttons in 2 pairs. Visual inspection doesn't reveal any difference to me but I'm half-blind and yet still I could swear that they sound and feel different. What you want to do is test them and pair them appropriately, that is, put in the transparent buttons and test them for sound and feel before you reassemble your controller. It took just one test to get left and right triggers and shoulder buttons sounding alike. I hit a small snag when attaching a trigger: I fumbled, slipped, and the blue buttons attached to the trigger microswitch flew out. It's a tiny piece that's easy to reinsert if you have tweezers, but even easier to lose. There are no spares in the box for these blue switches. After this happened it took a bit of fiddling to get the trigger to feel and sound right. This is probably a skill issue on my part. If you're new to modding, just be extremely careful so that you don't accidentally loosen parts that are easy to damage or lose. This is a great product. Thank you eXtremeRate!

D-pad is still an issue
Installation was easy enough. The two main issues that I find with this kit is that fact that there is no option to get the clicky face buttons without the hair triggers and the d-pad just doesn't work right. When left and right are pressed just a hair too much, the up and down also get pressed, very easily. It's the same exact issue that I find with the kit that I installed in my Steam Deck. I'm still trying to find a way to fix it on both installs. Other than that they feel and sound great. Time will tell how long they last.

Awesome kit "if"...
Very easy to install IF YOU FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS! I watched the YouTube video and followed the directions exactly. Everything worked perfectly. All of the triggers have the same tactile feel. Just be aware that the triggers (R2 & L2) will not work the same for racing games since they will be full throttle when activated. If you have "attention to detail" the install wont be a problem.

Disappointed and Frustrated - Damaged My Controller
I had high hopes for the Clicky Kit by eXtremeRate, but my experience was nothing short of a nightmare. Firstly the installation process for the Clicky Kit was simple; the product itself was completely faulty. The parts didn’t work as they should, and after installation, the buttons wouldn’t click properly. Even worse, the kit required me to clip the trigger, which ended up permanently damaging my controller. This wasn’t due to user error it was because of the poor design and low-quality materials of the kit. Instead of enhancing my gaming experience, this product ruined my controller and left me frustrated. I cannot recommend this kit to anyone. If you care about your controller, avoid this product at all costs.

Great but be warned
These seem like a great idea but honestly the button quality is not great and installation is a nightmare. The plastic for slotting in triggers is slightly too thick. When you reinstall your trigger it will always pressed. I ended up taking a dremmel to carve out the plastic just a hair and now they work perfect. The switches are good but not nearly as durable as they need to be. 1 week of silk song and my x button has lost most of its height and sometimes will either “false press” or not register as if the pad has just failed underneath the rubber top of the switch. I don’t know how much longer the other ones will last at this rate. The only thing I can say is for light use this mod is great but if you “play” games this will not last and I recommend learning how to solder to replace the switches for the shape buttons with something more durable. It’s great but I wish it had more durable switches and recession in the plastic forms for triggers.

Feels great, easy install.
other than trigger plastic (clear one it comes with) needing sanding to fit right its really easy to install and its a must have if you plan on modding a ps4 controller

Easy to install; some pros even more cons
I replaced buttons/triggers on a ZCT2U model PS4 controller. Installation was easy, just follow the instructions and you should be good to go. I've never taken apart a PS4 controller before but the video instructions made it really easy. It's a really easy mod that includes all the tools required except for a pair of sharp snippers to cut off some tabs on the triggers. Played a few different games for a couple of hours and here is my takeaway: Face buttons and shoulder bumpers feel very satisfying and is a straight upgrade in my opinion. If the kit only replaced those buttons, I think I would've been pretty happy. L/R triggers feel really mushy and creaky. This kit replaces your analog control with a 1/0 input, so to get around this, there are spacers that included in the kit that will activate the switch. As a result, there's lots of over travel after activation so you can feel the click but the trigger will still keep going. Additionally, for racing games or any games where you might want to half-press your triggers, you will no longer have that capability. The D-Pad is by far the worst part of this set if you use a stock D-pad. Because the stock D-pad is a single piece of plastic on a plastic rocker, pressing it in one direction will result in activation of other cardinal directions; for example pressing left on the D-pad will result in errant up and down signals being sent. For things like fighting games, you are going to have a ton of extra inputs when, arguably, this kit is supposed to clean up your inputs. I suppose you could purchase a split D-pad (separate piece for each direction) but even then, I think the tradeoffs for the kit as a whole aren't worth the time/effort/money in modding your controller. Overall, can't recommend this kit and will be returning it. Others might have better luck with the D-pad but it seems like this is a known issue.

Easy install and easy to mod
I only wanted clicky face buttons and wanted to keep the triggers as analog inputs. There's no clicky face button kit but it's easy to modify this one. I snipped off the shoulder and trigger buttons, see the pictures. The traces are isolated so it won't affect the rest of the buttons. I installed it on top of the original conductive film and it works perfectly!

Missing key parts - waiting for solution (update: solution provided)
update: extremerate provided a solution i was satisfied with. I give the kit 4 stars because in the end I did end up taking it out because i prefer the membrane feeling over the kit my kit did not include the 8 circular shaped rubber buttons that go in the bottom of the face buttons, pictured on the parts overview on the bottom right It instead came with 4 totally different looking rubber pieces that do not fit. Because of these missing key pieces my face buttons are dull (i also tried using the rectangular shaped ones but they keep moving and getting pushed all the way in) so i cant finish the installation contacted extremerate and waiting for a solution or return

Simple à installer, super video youtube! Franchement, ça fonctionne super bien. Faut avoir une autre manette à côté pour avoir la proportionnelle aux gachettes, mais pour du fps, c'est... MORTEL 🥰
