Well made with more pros than cons.
This lock is constructed of high quality materials, in spite of being made in China. It is not actually a 'coupler' lock. It locks the coupler LATCH and provides much better protection than a simple clevis pin or bolt. It is also more weather resistant than many other brands and the circular locking mechanism is much more resistant to 'picking' than standard slot key locks. It will provide some protection against trailer theft, but not nearly as much as a coupler lock would (the kind that actually blocks the entire ball socket). Cons: 1. The keys are difficult to reproduce, so losing them could really ruin your day. 2. The lanyard or 'keeper' end of the dust cap is flimsy and won't last long. It would be a good idea to buy a spare or two. Mine was cut, probably during packing or shipment, and I called Trimax for a replacement so I wouldn't have to return the entire lock. Trimax is sending one at no cost. 3. The spring lock has several tiny ball bearings that require lubrication. Avoid using a light oil because it won't stay put very long. I used a waterproof lithium grease, which won't flow out if the lock gets wet or from hot summer temperatures. Long-term durability remains to be seen.

Nice if it would have fit...
I liked that you can't remove the key with it in the unlocked position (like the one I lost because I though it was locked on). You also cannot attach the lock without opening it (meaning you can't lock it on if you don't have the key). But, like some other reviewers, this lock would not fit my trailer hitch. Here are some measurements in case they help anyone else who wonders if it will fit their hitch.Diameter of exposed part of shaft between the two ends: 0.282" (7.16 mm)Diameter of shaft at smallest point (where it locks inside the end): 0.130" (3.30 mm)Length of shaft exposed when locked: 0.871" (22.12 mm)Diameter of lock ends at their widest point: 0.910" (23.11 mm)Overall length of entire lock: 4.100 " (104.13 mm)Clearance needed between edge of shaft to widest point of lock: 0.292" (7.42 mm)The lock won't work for me for two reasons . My trailer hitch only has 0.173" (4.39 mm) of clearance between the housing of the hitch and the edge of the lock's shaft when it is in the hole going through the latch. My latch is also 0.880" (22.37 mm) wide and the shaft is not long enough for the lock to close even if it did fit through the hole.

Great lock, but double check your receiver design.
This is an awesome lock. BUT! It didn't fit my receiver latch. Oddly, my receiver has some ridges below the latch. Those interfere with the knob so that it could not be inserted. I'm disappointed, but not with this lock. I have had several locks, and really liked this one above the others. So look at your receiver, if it is flat along the surface, you're probably good to go.If your latch is kind of sunken in between two ridges, you may want to go with something else. For the return, they are charging shipping.

5/16" pin NOT 1/4" as claimed.
I use this coupler on my Truck Camper to hold the folding steps on securely. It works great for this application and I am well pleased. One issued I encountered is that the description claims that it is a 1/4" pin - it is actually 5/16". Not a big deal, but I did have to slightly enlarge my holes for it to fit.If you specifically need 1/4" and can't enlarge your holes then this won't work for you.

Well designed lock
This is a heavy duty, well designed lock that should hold up in the weather. The lock end has a rubber dirt cover that remains flexible in cold weather. The lock opens and locks easily. I also purchased a Trimax UMax50 ball tongue lock a little later and in retrospect, I kind of wish that I had paid a little more and ordered them with matching keys directly from Trimax. As it is, I dipped half (the end without the lock) of this coupler lock in colored plastic tool coating and did the same with the keys that fit it to make it quicker to identify on my ring.

Works well. Fits well.
Product is just as advertised. I wouldn't expect it to foil any dedicated thieves but its definitely decent enough. Works well. These are more deterrents than actual security. I got one that is tight enough to my coupler to make it harder to cut or pry off - but if you think about it, there is still a hundred ways someone could steal a trailer. But this is a decent deterrent for casual thieves.

Make sure you have 3/8" clearance for cylinders to fit
This seemed like a nice lock, and while it said it fits couplers up to 7/8", they didn't mention that it won't fit unless you have about 3/8" or more of clearance for the cylinders on each side. It just won't fit my hitch. I had to return it.You can see in the photo - that's as far as it would go. The upward slope of the hitch blocked the cylinder from being able to insert any further.

Still early but working fine for my need.
Still early but working fine for my need. I have an aftermarket bumper on my FJ and the spare tire is on a swinging what ever you call it. I wanted to be able to secure with more than just a pin. This has worked fine, basically doubly locked the rear of my FJ, so far it has held up to the weather and I like the little rubber cover for the key hole.

Excellent
Ajustement parfait sur l'attache de remorque, ne permet pas de glisser une cisaille pour couper la tige. Semble assez robuste. La clé est nécessaire pour verrouiller la barrure, ce qui est une sécurité supplémentaire.

Looks good but does not fit
There is not enough room to place it in the coupler. The lock mechanism takes too much room as the diameter is too thick
