How big do the water beads get?

The water beads are the size of any average orbee. Although some beads didn't 'puff' up all the way, they looked like raisins.

How many water beads does it come with? ?

A lot. Do not put all the bag into the water at the same time! I added the entire bag because the bag did not look that large and the beads were super small! We ended up having to put them in the bathtub. I would suggest using no more than1/5 of the bag started. The more water you add, the bigger the beads get. Save the remained for replacement when the beads need to replace. I will buy this set of toys again for other kids. My kids like it.
