Great beard soap
I like this soap as a beard wash. It scrubs really well and leaves your beard feeling light and clean. It smells like licorice, I personally enjoy the natural smelling fragrance and don’t find it overpowering at all. I cut it into 4 smaller cubes and find that it’s great for using in the shower as it doesn’t take up much space and is easier to get in the crevices between your jaw and neckline that way. Overall very happy and would buy again.

Great product,
Been buying this soap for 10 years and no plans to stop.As a heavy truck mechanic for over 40 years this is the next best thing to the commercial grade mechanics scrubbing soap without being as aggressive. This soap takes care of any missed spots or grease and oil stains in my skin after getting home.Pros, same price for 10 years.same quality .same size.Cons, None

Great soap and it does the job really well. HOWEVER -
I do not think some people follow basic rules of using this soap and those like it.1) Smell. Yes, it's strong and one may not like it. I do , but this is something that only you can say for sure.2) This soap is not meant (even though some do) as a full wash/full body everyday soap. It just will not last. This is due to the makeup of the soap itself. Natural soaps and those made like this particular one are soft compared to other soap. They will not last as long as one may expect. This particular one/brand is a little larger than most and it will provide one with a decent time for use.3) Major reminders -Do NOT leave this in the shower and the like with water running over it. That's just asking someone to not have the soap last at all. This is a soft soap. Break it in 4 pieces or at least in half. That will make it last longer. If you really want , break it in half and store one of the pieces in a airtight container. Nothing fancy. A small plastic bowl or something. While in use , make SURE to use a Soap dish / plastic soap saver so the soap will dry off after use and not sit in water after use or make a mess .Honestly , if you do not follow these rules and then complain about something that's a quick fix , then you are not really using it well .

Extraordinary and Smelly
As soap, this is great. I love the extra grit. That grit might be the secret to why my skin feels so smooth and clean after using this soap.In terms of longevity, it's fine. I heard that this stuff lasted extra long, then someone else said it vanished after a few days. In my experience, neither. It holds up normally for any hard soap. Then there's the smell. AS other reviewers have said, it does have a strong licorice smell. I've used pine-tar soap before that other reviewers have said was way too smelly, but I loved. Also, this brand has an actual licorice soap, so I thought maybe the reviewers had gotten the wrong soap. So I was willing to give it a shot. But man, this smells. Like most smelly soaps, it's strongest right out of the box and does dissipate some after a while. But it still smells. It's not a horrible smell, but it is very reminiscent of black licorice. I didn't like it, but weirdly I have come to kind of like it as I got used to it. It lingers a little on the body after washing, but not that much. The bathroom smells of it, though. All in all, I'm not displeased but it's too smelly for me to get a second bar. It's a real shame because it's great soap. I haven't tried any of the other Honest Amish varieties yet. If the other ones are as good, even without the grit, but don't have the smell, then that would be great. But I suspect the grit is the secret sauce, and I suspect that it's the black walnut hulls they use that create the pungency, so those factors might be inseparable.

The BEST beard soap for thick, itchy, facial hair!
My husband has always had dry and itchyness from his beard but ever since we found this soap YEARS ago it’s the only one he likes. Points for the DELICIOUS scent- we both love it! Also the ingredients aren’t disgusting or hard to understand like a lot of products are now. He also loves their oil but isn’t married to it like the soap lol

Lasts longer than other beard soaps
I'm glad I found this beard soap. Makes great lather with minimal effort. Lasts me 2 months using it on my 3 inch beard only. Keeps my beard and face clean and soft with the addition of jojoba oil after a shower. Will definitely be ordering this as long as the company is in business!

A good stripping soap, exfoliation is a bonus
I use this once a week to give a good thorough cleanse and exfoliation. This stuff washes EVERYTHING out, so I don't use it more often than that. I have a gentler product I use the rest of the time. With this, I find that getting the soap wet then applying directly to my face and beard works best. The scent is great if you like licorice. It doesn't linger long though, especially once you get other products in. And the bar is huge. I broke mine in 4 quarters.

The best natural soap out there
I bought this for my beard only, but I realized I could use it for my body too. This soap makes my body and beard feeling super clean and moisturized. I love how it's all natural too without the harsh chemicals supermarket soaps have. I don't use supermarket soaps anymore because of honest amish soaps. It's a win for both my beard and body. I would use this forever in my life. Highly recommended for both men and women.
