Very good striker

We have one of these in each of our survival kits. These are awesome, and worth their weight in gold if you need to build an emergency fire.

I was surprised when I seen these in a 2pk for $12. A wooden handled one (just a dowel rod) will go for higher. These seem to be good quality. The striker is a little cheesy so I replaced it with a cut section of a saw blade. Something with a true, sharp, 90 degree angle really gets this magnesium to curl off nicely. Seems to be high quality magnesium. The ferro rod could be a little bigger for the size of the magnesium but it throws a nice spark. I bought 4 of these just to have them in bags. My only concern is if the plastic handle will survive the test if time. The mag and ferro rods don’t seem to be inserted to far in. Overall very happy so far. It does the job well and is easy to see if it’s dropped. Recommended. Especially at this price point.

This product feels very well constructed, is very lightweight, and is very easy to get a spark and catch the magnesium on fire. I'm not sure why more people have not purchased this product but it is an excellent fire rod. 5 stars. I would highly recommend this product..

Works great, bigger magnesium rod than I thought. This thing can last a long time. Didn't even know it was two for that price until after I ordered it. What a bonus. Definitely a great buy! Seller ship it out quick!! Update, this firestarter rocks! I scratch off some magnesium with the rounded end of the metal plate it came with. Hit the ferro rod and lights up like nothing!
