Through The Wormhole With Morgan Freeman Season 2

Mind expansion made easy
This is a fun and stimulating way to expand your understanding of modern physics. Physics is some pretty exciting and weird stuff as we see in these fascinating explanations of what's happening in today's labs. And Morgan Freeman is easy to listen to with his smooth as silk voice. I do think at times if you look closely he seems like he has no idea what he is saying, just mouthing the words they gave him to say, but I doubt if anyone could do much better. Some of these episodes are truly freaky. Some of them are, in spite of being explained as simply as possible, over my head and still, I love hearing about them as I can feel my mind stretching to comprehend the far out ideas of what makes the universe tick. How is it possible that something, some particles, can dramatically change how they behaves simply because they are being observed? And yes we see an experiment where this happens. It proves that it is the act of observation that creates reality, or what we commonly think of as reality. Figure that one out if you can. I know I can't but I love thinking about it.You've heard the term multiverse, but this goes way beyond that. You've heard there are nine dimensions. This is old stuff here. Maybe there is only one.If you love mind expanding physics explained in a way that you might, I repeat, might, be able to understand, see this series. I eat this stuff up. And I will be watching some of these episodes more than once to try to wrap my head around it all. This is a great balance to some of the mindless junk I am usually feeding my head. There are constant little examples of what the physicists are talking about, such as someone tossing tennis balls around a center point. I found these often didn't help me much and distracted me from being able to absorb some of the ideas, but still they had to show examples to try to illustrate these far out ideas, and did an admirable job. I often found if I closed my eyes and simply listened I could grasp the information more easily without being distracted. This is wonderful television at its best. Fantastic entertainment for those who want to know what reality and physics are all about.

Great series - science for everyone
The "Through the Wormhole" series does a great job bringing some of the more esoteric areas of science to the general public. The science content is presented well, without losing the spirit of excitement that drives the researchers. In fact, including snippets of the actual work, and hearing from the actual people on the forefront of discovery, makes this series truly wonderful. Some folks may argue that the science gets a bit diluted, and the "gee whiz" element is stressed too much. Sorry, guys and gals! As a practicing scientist myself, I long ago learned that only a tiny fraction of the people in this world we share want to know everything in the wonky detail that our profession requires, and that we have learned to live with and to love. The only road to good communication of our own joys and insights is, in fact, to emphasize our most human feelings, which we do share with the rest of the world."Through the Wormhole" does science communication very well, indeed.

One of the Best Programs You Can Watch on Your TV :0
This rating applies to all three seasons of "Through the Wormhole..." In my opinion, this is one of the most well produced, thought provoking and visually stimulating series that I have "EVER" watched on TV. I was so happy to find these DVDs available on Amazon, because they've allowed me to free up valuable Tivo recording space. The concepts in these DVDs are so mind boggling that I can watch them over and over and learn something new every time. And the icing on the cake is the narration acumen of one of my favorite actors, Morgan Freeman. I urge you to check out the show on the Science network, HD is awesome to see, and I hope you like it.Yours for more informed shopping,Dennis

Science fiction is becoming science fact
I stumbled across Through the Wormhole when they were airing a marathon re-run of the first season of shows on the Science channel. Wow!! I was hooked at the get-go. If you liked shows like Star Trek, Quantum Leap, Sliders, Farscape, Fringe or are just curious about the way our world fits in the universe, then check out this series. Parallel universes, black holes, space travel, event horizons, these are explained in simple chunks of information that are just fascinating. The stuff of imagination may one day be fact. Morgan Freeman is an excellent narator and host. Who knows what mind will be sparked into seeking out more knowledge from this series. Yes, learning can be fun even when it is math, physics, and science.

Educate yourself - and watch this video
Before I started watching Morgan Freeman in this video series, I was a very conservative right-wing religious fanatic. Because of this video, I started the process of utilizing my neo-cortex and began performing critical thinking. This has changed my entire outlook in life. If you can't imagine changing your thinking paradigm, it's probably better if you just don't bother with this product. However, if you'd like to be aware of some of the most advanced thinking and solutions being attempted to life's biggest questions then I'd recommend that you also buy a thinking cap, a strap-down lounge chair with beverage dispenser and get ready for your mind to be expanded.

Season 2 is just as interesting as season 1...
Though the Wormhole is a really interesting series. Each episode keeps you entertained as well as informed. I'd rate this series up there with Cosmos by Carl Sagan (the original series, not the new one) as one of the top science shows of all time. Well documented with lots of good animation to keep one entertained/interested. Even some of the subjects you thought were obvious/boring (might have even skipped over) are worth watching as they present the subject matter very well. Just an overall great series in general.

Deep thinking and entertaining
Season one was a great educational adventure, now season two pushes it more. A wonderful collection of deep thinking concepts, some out of the box thinkers and scientists, and a nice collection of episodes that often leave you thinking: hmmmmm. Then there's Morgan Freeman uniting it all together with his "I can read you the phone book awesomely" voice that makes it all good to watch.

Best documentary series, ever.
This series is probably the best documentary on TV ever. Morgan Freeman, who could read the phone book awsomely, steers this brilliant philosophical spproach to the latest scientific discoveries, covering astronomy, and quantum physics.
