This is THE trashcan! I’ve always wanted to start recycling at home, and this EKO EcoCasa dual trash can made the adjustment so easy. The separate compartments for trash and recycling are really convenient, and it feels great to FINALLY have an organized setup.It’s extremely easy to use, the pedals work smoothly, and the lids open and close perfectly every time. The fingerprint-resistant stainless steel looks great in my kitchen, and I love how clean and modern it feels. Really makes my whole kitchen look better!Honestly, if you’re on the fence, it’s absolutely worth upgrading your trash can to something like this. It makes managing waste and recycling so much easier and is built to last. Highly recommend!

love how there are two components with MORE THAN ENOUGH space. easy to put the trash bag in (it even came with one!). lock feature works rly well to stabilize the bin, very good value for money, looks very slay. stable and amazing product.

Came delivered in perfect condition, no dings or bent corners. The product came double boxed - perhaps due to the complaints + reviews on Amazon of customers recieving thier EKO's damaged upon arrival they improved the packaging.It's placed just outside my kitchen and the size is ideal; doesn't get in the way while walking to and from the space.There'a a clean minimalist look to it thanks to the metal, with black trimming which keeps it from looking like a bland metal box. The metal itself is matte, which I personally prefer and being anti fingerprint makes it one less thing to wipe down. Overall this lends itself well to kitchens that have stainless steel appliances but will look good in most kitchens.The build quality, for now, is solid. Nothing feels cheap, the pedal has a nice resistance to it which is good for preventing the lid to rise up quick and slap the wall, just nice and simple throughout. Time will tell if it'll holds up after daily use.As much as I like this, I gave it 4 stars for the bin capacity. The bins are slim but fairly tall. Standard 13 gallon garbage bags will fit, but it will stop short of reaching the bottom of the bin. In other words: the bag is suspended up and being held by the bin themselves.Getting the next size up should let the bag "bottom out" in the bin.Overall: A great product from EKO. Yes it's pricy but most dual trash cans are, you're paying for the utility and the build quality which makes this one too consider if you're in the market for one.

I love this trash can! It seems to be good quality, but a bit overpriced. I love having the garbage and recycling in the same place because it's so handy. The bigger side holds a normal tall kitchen trash bag just fine. I'm using the small bags that were included in the small side as a liner to keep the bin clean. This fits the space I have perfectly. The lid opens smoothly and closes slowly.

Let me start by saying I rarely if ever write poor reviews. Stuff happens and nothing is perfect. When initially purchased, this can was not inexpensive. Really liked it for the first year or so, then it started functioning awkwardly - lid not opening consistently. This is a trash can that’s not used daily as it’s at our cabin so it’s used at most 30-40% of the time. Because it has a three year warranty, I reached out to the company - got to the UK customer service. They were terrific: friendly and very responsive. Sadly, we are in the US and their customer service is non-existent. You call the number and they are never available. If you’re lucky they will call you back. Took forever to get an initial response and then they said their warehouse was moving so they couldn’t respond. I had to keep checking back over the course of a few months. Finally they said the replacement parts are out of stock with no sense of when they would be available - offered me 15% off a new can. I could get 10% just for signing up for emails. Amazon tried to help by providing an alternate number (turns out it was for their legal dept) which was disconnected. US buyer beware.

We really loved this trash bin, it fits perfectly next to the kitchen island and serves both for trash as well as for paper recycling.However, the lid has cracked at the hinge, only 3 years 3 months since we bought this. It is still functional for now but the lid would lift away from the plastic housing under the metal lid everytime we step on the pedal. With the crack of the plastic right at the hinge, it strains the screws around the hinge so much that the screws are popping out (and can't be tightened). I can expect the lid to fail soon once the plastic housing can no longer support the opening mechanism. Tried to superglue it but the strain on the hinge is just putting too much pressure on the plastic, not fixable.This is shocking since we have another metal kitchen trash bin (single compartment) in our basement that has lasted over 20 years without any problem.
