Q: How many inches along the 50" side of the bag does the zipper extend?. I can't see "sliding" cargo across a fabric floor without problems.

The whole top of the bag opens up with the double zipper pulls.

Q: How thick is the material?

It's thick enough. I went on a 14 hour drive through a few different rain storms. Stayed dry. I'd buy it again when I wear this one out.

Q: How much weight in the bag will the handles hold?

I don't know the exact weight, but we put in 3 large duffle bags with clothes, presents (5 large), a bag fort the dog with food and treats for 5 days, 3 body pillows, 3 regular pillows, a cooler full of food, laptop... Maybe close to 175 lbs with no problems. Surprisingly, this is very well built and a good purchase. I would recommend getting different clips for the netting over the top. We found that the springs on the D clips weren't very good.

Q: Would this keep odor inside? If i had to transport something stinky.

Ugh, what do you mean " stinky"? Are we talking "dead stinky" or dirty clothes stinky?
