Was perfect for our canoe trip. Worked great in my pancake recipe.
The powdered eggs come packaged in a foil lined zip lock bag the keeps them from oxidizing. When you open the bag, it does smell a little like sulphur, but don't worry that is normal. We devoured this whole bag on our trip using it to make scrambled eggs as well as a fresh egg replacement ingredient in my favorite homemade buckwheat pancake recipe that we prepackaged for several breakfasts at camp. One of our campers is a cancer survivor who has some pretty specific dietary requirements and she had no problem digesting these eggs. These are great and they have a pretty good shelf life in the bag.

Just OK
This dried egg product is OK but not up to the quality of another brand offered on Amazon. The taste is fine but the product is very clumpy and somewhat difficult to mix properly unless a blender is used. After cooking as scrambled eggs the texture was grainy and a bit annoying. A spoonful of whole milk greek yogurt improved it and probably cream cheese or sour cream would also. The product is certainly fine for use as an ingredient in recipes requiring eggs and with enough enhancement I will continue to eat it in breakfast burritos.

I liked ease of use best and in baking it’s awesome
I liked ease of use best and in baking it’s awesome. If you are making scrambled eggs as a stand alone, it would be good in crisis situation but tastes just slightly off and texture is a little wierd. I cooked hamburger and veggies to add extra flavor and made a quiche and it was better. Again if stocking for long term storage or crisis situations, I’d eat it anyway it can be made.

BEST VALUE
I have tried all the other similar egg products on Amazon and Solstice Tea Traders is the best value. The taste is good. Blending is easy. I use a little canned evaporated milk along with distilled water. Work the liquid into the powder gradually with a fork and beat slightly. Microwave for 20 seconds at one(1) power(1100 watt oven), smooth out with fork, and do 20 more seconds. The mixture will continue cooking when finished so don't overcook. The ratio of liquid to powder is critical so measure and keep track. The blend should not be thick so start on the thin side and adjust accordingly.

I wont recommend, I wonnt repurchase
I wont recommend, I wonnt repurchase. one needs to tweak powder to water ratio. the taste was odd, I just don't like. I just made more, still an odd flavor., I would not feed the homeless with this stuff.

Not a good backpacking food
The package says they work well to rehydrate just to eat like scrambled eggs. Maybe we did it wrong, but I don't think I've ever put anything more horrifying into my mouth in my life when we prepared them (according to the directions) to eat on the Appalachian Trail. I ate only one bite and still get the shudders when I think about it - the texture was like Gak.I didn't try them any other way, because I threw them into the next trash can I came across, so maybe using them in baking is good, but I cannot recommend this as a source of calories for backpacking.

Excellent substitute for eggs with great taste and long shelf life. Can be easily made over microwave. Salt is already added.

Smells icky, plain eggs taste gamey, but ok for baking
I found the powder smells pretty icky (does not smell rotten, but does smell gross). I did not like the taste of scrambled eggs made from these at all: I guess "gamey" would be the best way to describe the flavor. I made pancakes with them, however, which came out just fine, so these should be fine for baking, which is mainly what I got them for as I don't use/eat eggs often enough to keep fresh on hand or use up box of fresh up within the Use By date. These are the first powdered eggs I've tried, but smell/flavor is likely the process used (spray drying vs. freeze drying) and not this brand in particular. Probably will not buy spray dried again. Not sure I will try freeze dried either because they're far more expensive, which kind of defeats the purpose for me (powdered in general is more expensive than fresh, but if most of the fresh go to spoil it's kind of a wash up to a certain price point while powdered better ensures having eggs on hand for occasional pancakes/baking).
