This fits perfectly under a ski helmet for those cold/windy days on the mountain. It's definitely not the thickest balaclava out there, but it's warm enough for me, very soft, and most importantly doesn't have a seam right down the middle of the front.

Great light/medium-weight balaclava for cold weather/water activities
I bought this balaclava for whitewater kayaking in cold water. I had tried multiple neoprene/non-neoprene options, but they were too thick or too warm to wear under my helmet. This balaclava is a perfect weight for winter/spring kayaking, and I could probably use it during the other seasons without getting too hot. The hinged bottom is great for pulling down under my chin or over my chin or nose when needed. The only awkward feature is the company logo tag sewn on the front of the balaclava. I removed this tag because it was too stiff and had annoying sharp corners that irritated my face when I pulled the bottom part of the balaclava below my chin.

Nice and toasty
Nice and toasty...a little tight on my head in some of the many configurations that you can wear it in but I do a have a very large melon so that is to be expected....

Keeps your head warm
Turtle fur products hands down are the softest and so well made these shells are a family favorite

Too small, too tight, too thin
The picture of this item is very misleading. The neck portion is way too short, barely extend far enough down to be secure and keep the wind out as one would expect. If you lift your head up it pulls way up, so I can see a lot of people constantly trying to tuck this crap back into their coats to keep the wind and snow out. Very thin material, fits VERY tight on a normal male head, if that's something that spins your wheels. Wouldn't recommend.
