NYX PROFESSIONAL MAKEUP Doll Eye Mascara, Long Lash, Black

I had read that this was a good inexpensive dupe for Thrive Causemetics Liquid Lash Extensions mascara, which I love, but it does not compare, in my opinion. What I like about the Thrive mascara is that it washes off completely with water and you don't have the "raccoon eyes" and have to do a second step of using make-up remover under the eyes; however, this NYX produce still gave the racoon eyes, and did not completely wash off. It gave decent volume, but if you are looking for a true "tube" mascara, this one isn't it.

This product is a lot better than expected, especially for the price point. I have been using another very expense "tube style" mascara, but it was $25. So, I thought I would try to find a less expensive alternative. The product shipped and was delivered as promised. It comes in a nice box and has a security tape over the product. Upon opening and removing the wand, it is very thick and I wasn't sure how well it would apply. Application was easy and was able to cover the lashes quickly and it looked great. As the day wears on, there is no flaking, crumbing or coming off around your eyes. The only thing I noticed, was that the lashes do not remain "long" all day. Strange how you never see any crumbs or flakes. I really like this product and will buy it again.

I've been using this product for several years with much success. A couple of swipes on one eye, same for the other, then return to each for another couple of swipes. DONE and beautiful. However, NYX has changed the interior of the container so that when pulling the wand out, there is nothing "scraping" excess product so the want is all wet with clumps of mascara. When you swipe your eyes, the lashes don't separate bc there's a glop of mascara covering them. I thought maybe I got a bad package, so I went to a local store and purchased another. SAME THING HAPPENED. So no more Doll Eye for me. My issue: I’ve spent a small fortune trying to find a replacement for L’Oreal Manga Rock, which I was faithfully using until it was discontinued. Also, I was desperate to find a cruelty-free product.My lashes: Naturally long, but thin and unruly.What my lashes LOVE: When I read reviews - and I know this sounds nuts - I generally look for mascaras that other people find “clumpy.” That means it’s probably thick, and my lashes love that. Also, rubber/sculpted brushes and/or brushes that are smaller and thinner - they really allow better control.What my lashes DON’T LOVE: Fat, bushy bristly brushes (do nothing for me) and product with a thin consistency where there is no build even after multiple coatsWhy I love this mascara: The brush is so thin I can get at my lashes from behind, under, from every angle. It also does a great job taming the hairs so they all go in the same direction. The consistency is nice and thick, and with the small brush hugging each lash I get great coverage. AND in addition to great volume it definitely adds length (even though I don’t need it) so that’s just a bonus!

This mascara is amazing. It makes my lashes look great without making them look overly done. I am not a fan of the obvious mascara look and this product delivers exactly what I want. I believe you could build it up for a more dramatic look, but one coat works perfectly for me. This mascara doesn't smear, flake, or take crazy amounts of effort to wash off. Love that it's cruelty free and inexpensive. I would compare it to Thrive's mascara, but at a third of the price.

I get lash lifts, and this is the ONLY mascara I will use. Literally every other mascara, even if waterproof, will smudge all around my eyes. And believe me, I’ve tried them ALL. I have very long lashes, and they brush against everything, apparently. I started getting lash lifts so I could stop using waterproof mascara to have my lashes hold a curl - and I switched to this mascara. I can wear this all day, all night, sleep in it if I’m THAT tired, and it doesn’t smudge. It comes off with simply warm water - no scrubbing, no damage. I know people don’t like the applicator as it brings out a lot of product when you pull it out of the tube - but I just brush the end off inside the end of the tube, like I do with every mascara and I don’t have any issues.

I like the Thrive mascara that creates tubes of mascara over the eyelashes so I searched online for similar products to see if I could find anything cheaper. NYX Doll mascara came up as a tube mascara so I thought for a little over $10 I would give it a try. I would not consider this a tube mascara. It’s difficult to put on because the mascara doesn’t stick to itself creating a build up. I hate the applicator and blame it as well. The mascara doesn’t clump but it also doesn’t show up if you have fine blonde lashes. It wears off during the day so it’s one of the worst I’ve ever bought. This is also not a cheap mascara.If you’re looking for minimal coverage, just enough to color the tips of already beautiful dark eyelashes, this might work for you. But if you’re starting from light lashes and trying to build length and fullness, get it out of your cart. You’ll be disappointed.

I know this product is highly rated by all the beauty gurus, but I don’t like it. It’s way too thick and clumpy. A silicone brush would help. I purchased another mascara with the same “tubule” technology that came with a silicone brush and I liked it much better. Even without the brush issues, I still think the formula is too thick.

This is a very avergae tube mascara. It does, as promised, not leave any marks or panda eyes after a day of wearing it. But it does not give you long doll lashes. The mascara is a bit dry and lumpy in the consistency, and you can't apply more than 2-3 layers, otherwise it makes your lashes stick together. The brush has a nice small shape, so it is easy to apply the mascara on all lashes, without accedential touching your skin. Personally, I won't buy it again.

I really like this mascara, NYX is a great brand, I feel like the formula may have changed as it’s slightly clumpy and lashes do not stay the same and quickly become heavy. However good to apply and easy to remove.

It definitely is smudge proof that’s because it turned into plastic. When washing it off it takes a while and I comes off in clumps. It also dried up pretty quick in its tube. So didn’t last long.

Goes on great, washes off really easily, so I was initially really happy. Unfortunately it has hardly lasted any time at all, and it has gone all dry and clogged in the bottle, so cant use anymore. Really disappointed

I read a review listing this as a tubing mascara, which I have now realised it is not. So it wasn’t a success for me. I have very oily lashes so tubing mascaras are the only ones which don’t slide down my face. For people with less oily lashes I imagine this would be good. It did make my lashes look nice initially.
