I have an Olde English Bulldogge who sinks like a rock. She does good to tread water at all. Because of this the water is not her friend which is a problem since she goes fishing with me on the boat and I take her to the beach. She has a deep chest and a narrow waist and I stuck to the size chart which said the size she needed could support up to a 70lb dog. That made me nervous because she is around 65-70 lbs. I took the chance and we hit the lake today. Like others said the straps have plenty of room to adjust and I was able to get a good snug fit without a problem. Then before getting in the water I used the lift straps to make sure all would hold. The jacket did great and feels very sturdy and well made letting me lift her with ease. Next we got in the water and to my amazement she started swimming all around the boat. It completely supports her and allows her to float with no effort on hr part. For the price this is an outstanding product that gives me piece of mind that she is safe on the water plus I can now let her cool off in deeper water and lift her back into the boat without hurting her or me. As for her wearing it. She doesnt seem to mind at all and almost seemed to enjoy it. She didnt chew or bite at any part of it and it did not rub or irritate her in any area. She had it on today from 6am to 330pm and showed no signs of being bothered by it. She also did not get hot in it and it actually keep her cool since it stayed nice and damp from being in the water. She has full movement and seemed nice and comfy laying around as I was fishing. Also it is a good color and if she was to fall in it is very high visibility to make a rescue easy. Dont hesitate. This product is well worth the money and more. Update(10-17-14)- Today I went fishing and while on my bass boat my trolling motor took a break. While working on getting it fixed my bulldog went to the back of the boat and got a drink from the lake. While Im sitting with bits and pieces of trolling motor on the front deck I heard a big splash. I look up to see my dog was gone. She is not a ballerina and slipped in to the lake with her clumsy self. Luckily she had on her vest and very calmly bobbed in the water for a second and then began to swim around. I let her take a couple laps around the boat while I got the trolling motor bits safe and then lifted her back on board by the vest straps. If I did not have this vest today I bet I would have had a big mess by needing to move quickly to save my rock of a dog. Also I thought that if she was to get to far from the boat and the fact my trolling motor was down I would have had to either use the main motor to snag her, which would not be very safe, or get wet myself to get her. I am very glad I bought this vest and today it certainly paid for itself. She has used it many times now on the lake and pool. It still looks new and is holding up extremely well. She has yet to protest wearing it and really seems to be confident around the water now.

This life jacket was a wonderful thing for my 3 month old dachshund. It gave her the confidence to learn to swim in our pool. Easy to fit on her each time. Love the handle on top, I used it to lead her around the pool with leash attached. She learnt very quickly where to find the steps for a safe exit. Now she swims without it, but wouldn’t have made such progress without this life jacket. Lovely to relax with her in my float!

Up front, I'm not an expert on using pfds for our dogs. Previous dogs were no fan of the water let alone being on our boat so we rarely took them out. Now with an English lab puppy, I have to actually go into the water to get them out because they love it so much. We decided to get him a PFD for obvious reasons and the fact that we do a lot of boating and things can happen. Your biggest struggle is going to be getting it fitted correctly. If you have a higher energy dog, this would definitely be a two person job. There is a very fine line between the PFD working correctly and not being too tight as to put your dog in discomfort and maybe have them lose interest in being on the water. I wish I could compare this to others but we have no complaints so far. The handle is perfectly placed, at least for our dog, to be able to pick him up in a balanced way and not have him tip forward or backwards. And the under muzzle flap helps keep his snout above water although he rarely seems to need that unless he is swimming for a few minutes straight. Lastly, we have washed the PFT a few times with the strong hose pressure and for now dirt seems to come right off. Lastly, we've had this since he was 10 weeks old and he's now four months old, 25 lb heavier and there is still plenty of adjustability left. He's currently at 37 lb if that helps.

Bought a XS for my Morkie; she weighs 6 pounds. Her chest measurement is 13” and there was still about 2” to adjust tighter/looser. She was comfortable in it and the straps had a clever Velcro design to them so they don’t dangle. One con was that one of the buckles on the chest wasn’t tight enough so it would unclasp if you pulled it without the support of the Velcro. Didn’t have an issue with it but worth pointing out when it was on her. My dog was able to swim in it without issue. Handle on the back perfect for assisting her bank into the kayak. I machine washed it cold and air dry once and still in good shape. Worth the month.

This is not only adorably but also works really well. Fortunately we were never in a situation where my dog was actually at risk of drowning, but he and I jumped off the boat to cool off in the water (we can both swim well) and it was not easy to get back to and on with the current. My dad was able to lift my dog up by the handles of the life vest (he’s 60 lbs, so a reasonably big boy). The life vest stayed together and supported my dog beautifully. It brings me such peace of mind, and it seemed to me that my dog was also calmer while wearing it. I bought a second one when I got another dog earlier this year. To others getting this product I would recommend using all of the buckles and Velcro straps whenever your dog wears this - like I said, it did work, but we made sure to use all of the attachments. A floating leash also makes a big difference in terms of being able to catch your dog while swimming. And take the time to measure your dog to get the right size. So grateful for this product.

It saved him! He fell into the water and in the frenzy he took off swimming (away) in a panic. When he finally laid eyes on me in the water, trying to get to him, he did swim toward me (he only seemed to have line of sight/water level vision). He dunked me clamoring to try to get to safety (I needed my own vest!). When within reach, my husband was able to lift him up and out of the water with the sturdy rescue handles. Two points of added advice. Teather the dog to you or something so he can't swim away. Make sure you can lift the dog's whole weight up in the event on an emergency. About the vest: it was easy to put on with very sturdy velcro that wraps under your pup. Easy to cinch and buckle. True to size measurements. We have a boxer shaped 65# pup, lean but with a deep chest. We got a large and it was plenty big. He did seem hot in it, in the sun. So we kept him wet to help him not overheat. Highly suggest.

Our baby is a 70lb American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull) and we ordered the large. The fit is great. He loves to swim and this makes it easier on him. He wears his life jacket and swims safely the entire time we are at the lake. The orange color has great visibility in the water. The best part is that our dog is happy and comfortable in his life jacket. He even gets excited when he sees it! The life jacket appears well made with clean stitching and secure fasteners. This is our first season using it and we've already had it a month. Highly recommend

This dog floaty device/ mini life preserver was perfect for our small Maltese dog. She had fun swimming in the water with ease. All expectations were met on this product. Will most likely use it again. The fit was good and wasn’t too cumbersome . In our view, it’s a Keeper!

True to the reviews, I bought this for our small corgi puppy (about half the size of a typical adult corgi) and she might outgrow it as she reaches her adult size since it's a bit smaller than the measurements given. However it does a great job at keeping her afloat in the water and she now loves swimming! So glad we bought this and we will definitely buy a larger one when she outgrows it! Highly recommend!

Ordered a size large for my Husky x Malamute, who weighs about 33kg. Fairly good quality but I did notice one of the straps was hard to tighten up as it kept coming loose when adjusting it. The front velcro flap could have been longer, but the underside velcro flap was perfect and offered lots of adjustability. Size was spot on, could have been a little longer in the back but provided extra buoyancy when she was swimming. The colour is also bright making her easier to spot in the water. She had no issues running around or swimming in it, and didn't show any discomfort whilst wearing it. Overall very happy with how quickly it was delivered and found it reasonable value for money.
