Not sure if the active ingredients work or if it is placebo
I do like most of the Science in Sport products they have used (other than the gels), so was curious to see what these Rest+ Capsules would be like. I am very active, running around 15 to 20 miles per week, and after a big run, I need lots of good quality sleep and recovery time. However, sometimes a big run keeps me awake due to the aching muscles, hence why I thought I would see if these capsules help.I have to say, I am a little dubious about some of the active ingredients, however, placebo or not, I have slept really well with the Rest+ capsules. They are easy to swallow, and I did find I was feeling sleepy within 30 minutes or so. I have used these 5 times now over the past couple of months, and everytime I have slept like a log. I can therefore recommend them to you.

Seem to have helped
These arrived in a sealed container in perfect condition. There are some nights that my hubby struggles to sleep; it isn't every night, and it doesn't seem to follow any kind of pattern. I wanted him to try these to see if they would help. After he had been taking these for over 2 weeks, his sleep seemed to have better more nights than broken sleep. It's difficult to know if this was because of these or not, but it did seem to help. He still had some nights of broken sleep, but not as many as before he started taking these.

Seems to work
These come nicely packaged and from a brand in SiS that you can trust. They do seem to have a positive impact on my sleep, I do struggle with getting a good night's rest so any help is great, however, I can't be sure this isn't just a placebo effect, which then brings me to the question if it's not such a great difference that I can be sure they're working, can I consider them to be good value?I think I'd recommend giving them a try and seeing if they work for you, I'm glad I gave them a try, but I won't be purchasing anymore.

Try valerian first. These gave me a hangover but did make me sleep.
As you can see from the mixed reviews on this page, alternative ingredients have a tendency to work well on some people and have no effect on others, unlike the chemical cosh of commonly prescribed sleeping pills.I normally take pure valerian tablets to sooth me to sleep if I am stressed. Pukka sleepy time tea is another good option. I would recommend you try these valerian-based approaches before you switch to this, as they are gentler, with less of a hangover. They may not work for you. My GP told me NICE/NHS went as far as doing a formal trial for valerian, and it failed because so many people said it had no effect, even though others in the trial swore by it.I have only used these SIS tablets once. I only took one - not the four that were recommended. I fell straight to sleep, so did not need to take another. In the morning I felt a bit strange, and my head felt tight round the temples. Not a pleasant sensation and it took me several hours to feel OK. I had similar problems when I took pure 5HTP - tightness in the temples and vivid dreams.

Feel well rested, quality product
I'm not the best of sleepers! I get about 4 to 5 hours a night, which isn't great. Specially if you are balancing a young family / work life, plus try to keep fit with regular exercise routine. All this can take its toll on you if you're not getting enough sleep.I take these about an hour before bed. I feel more calm and relaxed creating a more meaningful rested sleep state for my shorter sleep cycles. Anyway of boosting sleep without feeling groggy is a win for me.

Not for me.
Didn't help or improve my sleep patterns at all.

Quality Ingredients at a Decent Price Have Helped Rest and Sleep When Stressed
I do have periods when I am unable to sleep properly, or wake and don’t feel as though I am rested – the Science in Sport Rest+ Capsules looked a potential solution – ordered on that basis. The capsules arrived as part of another order so in a box with other items and no additional packaging, however the SIS branded plastic bottle containing the capsules was sealed beneath the cap when unscrewed. The bottle is 110mm high and 62mm in diameter, it contains 120 light beige coloured capsules which in turn are 23mm long and 8mm in diameter – average sort of size for this type of supplement.I waited before taking the supplements as I don’t always have issues – they tend to be when stressed with work, neither did I take the prescribed 4 capsules per day, when I did have a bad night I started with two capsules the next day – one after lunch and one about 40 minutes before bed. I kept this going until the weekend and I will say that after the first night I did seem to get a better sleep and felt rested next day. At weekend we do have wine so I did not take (or need) the supplements but a couple of weeks later (last week) I did have issues again and restarted taking the supplements with similar effect. I do applaud the fact that they are using decent ingredients which have no ill effects nor do they leave a bad taste and as a bonus these are a vegan friendly product. As they seem to have have had some positive impact on my sleeping when stressed I have a positive outlook regarding them, though whether it is a placebo effect or not is debatable. Everyone has different experiences with vitamins and supplements so if you do consider buying them, your own experience not match mine.

Can't tell if these have improved my sleep much. May take a while to see effects.
I'm not entirely sure how much these sleep aid supplements have done for my sleep in. I've followed the suggested dosage of 4 capsules a night (and even increased the dosage a couple of times) and don't find that taking these consistently helps me to sleep. Sometimes, I've felt more sleepy than usual, but I can't honestly tell if that's because of these supplements or not. Maybe if I tried using these consistently for a few months, I may be able to tell if these have had any real effect. What doesn't work straight away for me may work for others though. Science in Sport is a good brand though, and produce high quality supplements, so I'll keep using these until I run out. The effectiveness of different sleep supplements does seem very much to depend on the individual.
