This retractable leash has been a reliable companion for the months I’ve owned it. It works as advertised and hasn’t broken down once. I find the design aesthetically pleasing and comfortable to hold. The locking mechanism is sturdy and reliable, unlike other leashes that have failed me in the past. The black parts are made of rubber, which makes it shockproof, considering how many times I’ve dropped it without any issues. I also appreciate the small hole provided for attaching poop bag cases. While the ABS is functional, I haven’t found as much use for it as I anticipated. However, it’s still a valuable tool when I need it, such as when a small rabbit darts by. My dogs are capable of catching them, so this leash undoubtedly saves lives.

I bought one of these a year ago. My dog is 60 lbs of pure low to the ground pulling power coupled with explosive speed. And he is a running fool that has no mind whatsoever when his prey drive is active. This leash will instantly lock when he explodes after a squirrel, often when I'm least expecting it. After I learned to hold on tight to this little flexible leash the value of it was immediately shown when my dog could no longer run into the street after the aforementioned squirrel before I could stop him or simply rip the leash out of my hand altogether. In short, this leash allows enough leeway that he can wander a bit into the weeds to do his business without me nearby but grants enough control that I don't worry about him getting away from me, which is exactly what I need. The bad thing about the leash is that the material of the leash thread itself began fraying a month ago, which began to gum up the works of the retraction system. I was able to cut some of the fraying nylon material away and gently work at it until the retraction worked again, but I opted to buy a new one entirely and used the old as a spare. Note that I probably use this leash 10-12 hours weekly during our walks in all types of weather, so it's gotten a workout in the last year. I did notice that the retraction mechanism gets a bit sluggish at -5 F and below and it's not always happy in heavy rain either. While it would be great if this leash were a bit more durable, the auto brake feature is indispensable for me and I'll continue to buy this leash unless and until someone markets the same thing with more durability.

This is a great product I use it daily It works great for my giving my dog some distance and still give me control.

I have tried countless retractable leashes and this is so far, the best. I only use it when I'm on the beach with my 75 lb Belgian Shepard. It's easy to use. No complicated buttons.

I have been using retractable leashes for years. I had high expectations for this one and I find it ok. The leash rope is flimsy and tends to curl getting stuck in the handle. Handle is a cheap plastic. I still haven't figured out this 'no pull' I really looked forward to as I have neck issues and that was a huge feature for me. It pulls just like any other. All in all, it's ok, but no better than any other I have used.

Update… Ultimately, this is the worst dog leash I’ve ever used. You might as well just walk your dogs using a 16 foot long piece of string. AVOID AT ALL COSTS TO MAINTAIN YOUR SANITY!!! I had high hopes for this leash, but the engineer that designed the tape used in this leash has obviously never used his own invention for any length of time. This leash worked great at first, but it didn’t last long because within weeks, the leash tape would no longer stay flat and instead would constantly fold over on itself, jamming up in the leash, forcing me to pull the tape back out and then carefully feed it in while holding the tape flat. As annoying as this was, it got much worse. I typically found myself having up to 10 feet of dog leash laying on the ground with a dog all tangled up in it. The rewind mechanism is extremely weak. As such, I CAN’T RECOMMEND THIS LEASH. I don’t think my issues with this leash are a one-off issue, as I’ve read other critiques that state the exact same issues that my leashes have. Incidentally, I had purchased 2 of these leashes for my two Italian Greyhounds, and BOTH failed. Furthermore, the auto-brake, works a bit too well. As my dogs are Italian Greyhounds, they’re quite energetic and resulting in the brakes engaging even when not necessary. I have one positive item that I can say…it’s a decent looking leash. Nothing more. If my dogs could talk, they’d probably have some serious issues with this leash.

Great retractable leash. I did a lot of research when looking for a retractable to aid in my rescue dog's pulling until we got him trained. This is perfect - the length, easy to use AND helps with the pulling. It is made very well and worth the money. Not heavy. This is the best retractable leash I've owned and I've had a number of them.

Its ok. It might stop a small dog running into the road but not a big dog dragging you into traffic with him.

Excellent for my 65 pound boxer. I feel the ribbon is very secure for her strong bolts and dashes. Nice length.
