The chicken my dog didn't realize he needed to have
Bought this kind of as a joke and didn't realize how much laughter we are going to have. Should have ordered new underwear because I pee myself. So much laughing so hard. The little guy plays with his thing non-stop. We don't get any sleep now, but it's hard to be upset at a 3-month-old puppy that has discovered something that he enjoys just as much as running around outside and terrorizing the cat.I didn't really buy it as a gift for anybody other than maybe a gift for our entertainment. So I don't know how giftable this thing would be. But if you had somebody that had a small dog and you gifted it to them, you would forever be their friends. Trust me.And at this point the price wasn't even part of the consideration and purchasing it. We were more or less obsessed with not getting any sleep anymore and peeing ourselves so many times from laughing.I did have to make one change to it though. It does come apart rather easily and with a small dog that loves to shake the snot out of stuff I was afraid that it would come apart and the little flashy thing that's inside of it would come out and he would swallow it. So we did remove that and we just kind of keep an eye on him but he has yet to get it to come apart. So I did subtract one star for that if they could have somehow have made it. So once you pushed it together, it wouldn't come apart again. Or maybe heat welded the plastic together so you couldn't come apart

Standard gear in any decent scuba divers kit
Unbeknownst to most users of these wonderful chickens, and to the manufacturer and retailer, these droll creatures have a special place in the heart of many scuba divers. The chickens randomly show up on dive boats and somehow get attached to the gear of unsuspecting divers. As one of such fans, I can tell you these things are well made and have good bouyancy, at least at the beginning of the dive. For anyone interested, i challenged the neck as a standard attachment point used by many, and recently used one of the legs, which helps the chicken float upright which is much preferable. You will need a #1 stainless steel swivel snap hook also available here and some cave line. I can attest they are good up to recreational dive limits (130f). I would deduct half a point for the detachable head, but otherwise excellent. Good times

Safety Concerns - Produces Small Pieces (Choke Hazard)
Although I feel a bit odd writing a review on a āchickenā pet toy that we purchased for our small mini-Schnauzer puppy (10 pounds), here goes. We saw these pet toys on Amazon and decided it would be a fun toy for him as he has lots of energy. We ordered the chicken and it arrived promptly. It arrived in a fancy box which was probably intended to suggest a high quality toy was enclosed. We gave the chicken to him, and he cautiously started tossing it around and playing with it.In less than two hours, one of the chickenās feet had split and a dime-sized piece torn out, leaving a jagged edge. So we picked up the small piece and discarded it as it presented a choking hazard to our dog. The toy was also set aside out of his reach out of concern that more pieces would be produced. I should note that over the years we have purchased many, many pet toys. This is not rocket science; however, this particular chicken pet toy is made out of a sort of stiff plasticā¦not a rubbery material that we normally see in pet toys. The rubbery type withstands pulls, bites, and more rough-housing than this poor chicken toy could ever stand. He has many other toys that continue to survive, so I don't think we have an extraordinarily rough dog.Although there are many different dogs with different play habits, different bite strength, etc., for a toy to last less than two hours with a small, dog does not give us any confidence in the making of this product. Further, the fact that it produced small pieces that could choke our puppy was a concerning safety issue for us. So we would advise against purchase of this product. See our photos for examples of this problem.

Head pops
Would have been a five but the head pops off while our puppy is pulling it. Like a Barbie head doll. Lol. Little big for our baby but she still likes it.

Made Labor and Delivery a hoot!
I bought this for my daughter to use during labor and delivery to help keep her laughing and take her mind off the discomfort. She was the hit of the L&D ward! Every time she paged the nurse, she'd hit the call button, then squawk this chicken! It became a running joke among the delivery nurses- each shift change, the nurse being relieved would warn us, then my daughter would squawk, and the new nurse would come running to see what in the world that noise was.Funny thing is, now it's my grandson's favorite thing to play with when he visits Grandma!
