The photos capture your attention, while the narrative help us understand why we are drawn in.
The book does a great job of educating the reader on the evolution of coffee from its tribal origins to the modern day coffeehouse. The reader is presented with stunning visual scenes that help us understand why the coffee culture has taken off over the recent decades. The narrative accompanying the powerful photos help us understand our appreciation for light, space, architecture and design. Read this book while enjoying a cup of your favorite coffee!

No variety in aesthetic, exclusive expensive interiors
Granted, the interiors showcased in this book are very cool. But since the book is called 'Cafe Culture' I thought there would be a nice variety of differently styled cafes. The author obviously has an aesthetic ideal in mind and he is very consistent with it throughout his chosen collection. He favors very high class expensively designed interiors that are ALL monochromatic color schemes of white, grey, black, brown, and similar colors. As I said, there is no doubt the interiors are very cool but there is hardly a drop of color in this book! I was expecting far more inspiration from this book for designing a small cafe interior on a budget and got absolutely NOTHING out of this book at least for the purpose I bought it for. This is NOT international cafe culture, it is exclusive cafe culture for the rich with nothing but stark ultra modern design ideas.
