Great book.
As someone hoping to take a cruise one day, I found this book to be very informative (and often humorous).

Well worth reading
My husband and I have also become cruise addicts and he's the one who books our cruises and tours. I knew much of what the author wrote about, but did learn several new things, as well.If you're interested in cruising and haven't made the jump yet, do yourself a favor and read this!

Been there! True!
We have been on one cruise. We are terrible travelers. Everything in this book is true. I researched before our cruise. I read about some of these tips and experienced others. These Tips are spot on!

Informational
This is a good book for novice cruisers. First voyages are always overwhelming. If you plan early you will not be taken by surprise.

Great tips for the First time Cruiser, Less so if you cruised before.
The tips provided in this book are extremely comprehensive and cover just about every situation you may experience.. I think the author goes a bit overboard with some recommendations but most are right on. especially if you are traveling with a family and children. It's just two of us (slightly older), so we would pack and chose rooms differently than someone with children or whole families. We have never tried an inside room but some very experienced cruisers who cruise all the time chose these rooms. since they spend so little time in the room.I've taken close to 20 cruises on four different cruise lines and enjoyed each one in different ways. Being fully prepared from planning the cruise to actually taking it there are so many unknowns that great preparation is the key.to a successful cruise. I wondered if I could learn something new that I hadn't experience that this book could provide. The answer is YES. It's a good read for the new cruiser, less so for the experienced cruiser.but there are some useful nuggets that we haven't thought of.Our first cruise we chose a room on deck two (90K ton ship) outside room, exactly in the middle of the ship. (I came with a bag of medicines and devices for sea sickness) I was prepared!. Well I still have that bag (always packed) but never used or needed. It,s wise to carry one because you never know if a storm could happen. We have had perfect cruises each time because we carefully timed our cruises to avoid hurricane season, typical family vacation times and spentextra to get a room towards the center of the cruise ship and away from potential noise. These four things have worked for us. If you are new to cruising, I recommend reading this book because one big mistake or something you forgot to bring, can spoil a great vacation. I bought the Kindle version of the book and recommend it over a paperback.

Love the book
I am a true cruise ship lover. I try to take a cruise every year. I love this book for its honesty and humor. Every cruise is different and every ship is different. This book highlights the joys and problems. It is a must have for all "cruise ship" trips.

Full of Good Cruising Tips!
Even though I have taken a half dozen cruises, I read Deb's book looking for ways to enjoy our NEXT one---and I picked up a couple of ideas. Thought I'd share a few of my own, though. Bet you don't know that the cruise ships only desalinate the water to a level which is barely not detectable---hence the fluid retention so many of us suffer with by the end of the cruise week. The soft drinks, coffee, tea, water from the water stations and even the water the food is cooked in is far saltier that the water on land. Hard to avoid the on-board water, too. We order coffee and breakfast pastries as our wake up call every morning. Why not? It's included! I shop at the Dollar Store a week before boarding our cruise ship. What do I buy? Disposable birthday or holiday decorations (takes two minutes on Day 1 to make the cabin festive and Disney charges $35), pipe cleaners (when traveling with children---instant child quieters), shower puffs, retractable ID card holders, zip ties, various kinds of tapes, luggage identifiers, word seek books, travel size toiletries. There's a great product out called Poo-Pourri. Spritz in the toilet bowl, poo, flush, voila, no residual odor. Guaranteed. Try it, it's great. Thanks, Deb! Grammy Jill

The only cruise advise book you will need
I went on my first cruise in Feb 2015 after a board exam hoping to have a vacation that I can just relax. I am, by nature, the planning type especially when it comes to travelling, not only because it is half the fun, but a good vacation most often does not just happen. So I did go to cruise advise sites to gather some information but frankly it's either too much information or not enough info. When I started to read this book I simply could not put it down! It is packed with numerous practical tips that only a seasoned cruiser would know. From searching and planning, packing, life on the ship, getting the best deals, choosing excursions, and so many other good to know information that it was literally the only cruise related book I brought with me (normally I have to get a few travel guides and tear the useful pages out and make a booklet out of it) and the only one I needed! I felt I traveled like a seasoned cruiser when I learned most passengers on board paid more than I did for the same cruise and the same type of room and less prepared. I had to lend my companion (who did not read the book) a few things that was mentioned in the book, which would have otherwise ruined one of her port days. I am so glad I brought 2 swimsuits!

A very handy book on cruising!
Very informative and amusing! An easy book to read full of great advice. Sure there are some things I already knew, but there were others I didn't and some very good tips! If you are taking a cruise especially if it is your first time, this is a very valuable book to read PRIOR to your trip!

I requested a return to which Amazon happily obliged. They refunded the money and said there ...
This really has to be one of the dumbest books I've ever read. In one of the chapters it suggests ordering all the appetisers in one sitting and mixing both main courses together. It also recommends taking one's sunglasses on holiday and an air freshener, as well, as to use public toilets for, well, you know! After five minutes, I requested a return to which Amazon happily obliged. They refunded the money and said there was no need to return the book! Says it all!!
