Q: Are these about the same as other helmet sizing? I have a hjc that is a large, would it be accurate to order a large here?

I followed the sizing guide using a cloth tape measure. Ordered a large snug but comfortable. Very happy with my purchase

Q: is there thicker padding I can add, very noisy?

Mine is fairly quiet.a small amount of wind noise .but I have four different helmets and I have never heard of thicker padding. I would think you could check with the place you bought your helmet from and they could tell you if that is feasible. Good luck.

Q: How much does the xxl weigh?

It is lite. Don’t know the exact weight. I did say in a previous review the sizes are small. I normally wear XL but needed XXL for this particular helmet. The XXL is pretty lite.
