I purchased this to spread some grass seed in bare spots on my front lawn. This hand spreader didn't disappoint. It worked just right spreading the seed nicely. Some reviewers had a problem with how the lid screwed onto the container. You have to make sure when doing so to tighten it until you feel a click. Then the lid is on tight. This spreader worked great for us and I would recommend it.

Spreading grass seed? Don't feel like investing in a push or pull spreader. Buy this! The large handle makes it relatively comfortable to hold and easy to use. Fairly ergonomic design. Choose your feed or spread rate by rotating the dial and you're off and running. It's built well and holds more seed than I thought it might. Super functional and makes spreading a faster and more efficient process. I'd imagine you could use it with fertilizer too. Lastly I like that it's made in America (I think.)

Makes spreading salt in winter so much easier!

I have used this shaker spreader to apply pre-emergent on my lawn and salt to my walkways. It's durable and easy to grip and hold onto while using. It fits a good amount into the canister. I like that there are size options depending on what you want to use it for (there are small holes for the pre-emergent but also bigger holes for salt). I am pleased with this product and only wish I got it sooner. I was using an old, souvenir cup from a restaurant before which obviously didn’t hold much and I couldn’t control how much I let out at a time.

Like the granular size holes selection and container size. Used currently for salt on sidewalks grass seed and fertilizer in spring.
